MountainView Hotel Merritt

Brand new air conditioner and very quiet. Bed was comfortable and the pillows are awesome.

I actually forgot about this reservation even though they emailed me a reminder a few days before, because I’ve been having a tough time lately (elderly mom going through breast cancer and I’ve had health issues of my own too), so I booked elsewhere kind of last minute. Then on my arrival night, I received a call from Mountain View just before 10pm, asking me when I was going to arrive, and he told me “because I need to go to sleep.” I guess they don’t have anyone at the desk overnight for late check-ins. I apologized and told him what happened, and he was kind of like, “Yeah because I’m up waiting for you.” I apologized some more. I mean, I definitely wasn’t happy with my brain costing me an extra Benji for nothing. For the price of two cheap places, I could have stayed somewhere very nice! He seemed kind of put out, even though now he had my money and didn’t have any of the expenses of a guest— no water or electricity used, no one eating the breakfast (if there is one), and no need to pay anyone to clean the room the next day. Because of his demeanor, I probably won’t book there next time— unless my brain messes up again. I do feel bad he stayed up late waiting for me; though they should probably do the check-in calls a little earlier. C’est la vie.

very accommodating as we were travelling from the Island to the Interior and allowed us a late check in. Rooms were clean a d the beds were comfortable. For us who needed to get back on the road, breakfast was great and the doors opened early. I would stay here again

Great value on convenient location for area

Property owners were nice and breakfast was decent as well

Older hotel but staff keep it clean and go above and beyond service wise. Very friendly staff. Stayed 1 night driving through and would stay again.

Excellent stay. We got there late. Front desk closes at 11 pm but they have a emergency door bell you can ring, which we did to check in because it was midnight. Room was clean and quiet and I enjoyed the blackout curtains, bed was very comfy as well and towels were fluffy just perfect for a hot shower.

Great stay for the price!

The woman that worked there by the name of Komal was very helpful and friendly. However the young man who worked there by the name of Anil was not very helpful. At breakfast he wanted to wait until the waffle machine was completely empty before he filled it. We asked to have it refilled after we used the last of it and he said no, the next customer could come and ask him to refill it when they wanted some waffles but there was still an hour left before breakfast was over and other people were still coming in for breakfast.

A nice, comfortable, hotel.  Just what is needed for an overnight stay.  The room was clean, the bedding fresh, and the front-desk manager helpful and very pleasant.  There was a selection of basic breakfast stuff, and fresh apples.   My wife liked that the shower had enough oomph to clean shampoo and conditioner from her hair.  There was a fridge, and an openable window that gave fresh air.

Exactly What We Wished For

The owner here is the kindest man.  When were arrived he noticed that I was really hot and offered me water and also make sure that we got the bottom suite because I use a cane.  The room was super clean, really comfortable beds, nice sheets and a free breakfast.  We  spoke to him every morning to talk about our day 🙂 We would definitely stay here again.💕

Staff was excellent.  Friendly and helpful. Pool and hot tub were a bonus. Hot tub could be cleaner, maybe needs more chemicals..but we were just happy to have the option. Pool was crystal clesr and good temperature for kids. The only drawback was that the bathroom floor and edges needed a clean. Otherwise bed was great. If given the option again i should have chose a third floor to get a view.  Allowed a large dog with last minute booking which was nice too.

The hotel could use some updating but it is very clean and the bed was comfortable. The front counter gentleman was very friendly and nice. There is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs which we didn't have any problems with. Breakfast was very basic with cereal, toast, waffle, yogurt, milk, juice and coffee. We stayed overnight on our drive to Vancouver. The price and value for the room was good.

We booked through Expedia, as it turns out just before they locked their doors. We received a phone call to let us know we could press the buzzer at the door to be let in. Though it was late, the staff member received us in a friendly, welcoming, and efficient way. The place, though a bit dated in some ways, was comfortable, quiet, and clean. A simple free breakfast was included with the room though the room was almost half the price of other rooms in the area. There was a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee in the room. Really great value!  I’d recommend the place and will stay there again!

The property was very outdated, and could definitely use some updating. The room was reasonably clean, although there were lots of visible streaks on the bathroom walls. The bed was comfy though and the staff there were very friendly. The free breakfast was basic but good. The waffle maker was a great addition!

A quiet spot with a nice view (depending on where your room is located) and decently priced. Breakfast was basic and didn't have many options but for the price it was honestly worth it. good and quiet stay!
