Amazing. Owners were so friendly and helpful! Loved our town house!

Attended over an August weekend for a relatives wedding. We stayed in a newer place with 2 floors, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen and everything you need. So much to do with the kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, etc.

For more than 15 years, we spent every summer vacation with our two kids at Balsam Resort. It was a great place to be with your family   After many years away, we returned to the resort this summer   We were so pleased to see the upgrades. The new toys at the beach, the beach furniture and beach bar were fun. The units were upgraded with fresh paint and furniture. I liked the  new barbeque area.
This is a terriffc spot for a beach holiday, especially so for young families. I can't wait until my grandkids are old enough so that I can share this with them

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Balsam Resort and plan to go back!  Our room was on the second floor of the main (old) building and had a terrace with a beautiful view of the lake.  The terrace faced away from all the cottages and was wonderfully quiet and private.  The room was a little shabby but was clean and had a well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed for a long weekend stay.  The beach was steps away with plenty of lounge chairs and picnic tables and lots of room to relax in the shade when the sun gets too hot.  Our Canada Day long weekend visit included a performance by a live band (!) and a terrific fireworks display.  I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway within 2 hours of the city - and no Hwy 400 traffic!

Very well equipped room spotless. Great view of Balsam lake.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how amazing Balsom Resort is. My family all had a blast, especially the kids (9 & 2). There is kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, paddle boards, and even a water bike all free to use for hotel guests. Nice clean bbq stations covered so you can cook in the pouring rain. Firewood is all supplied at the community fire pits daily also. I cannot wait to go back.

Mattress was bumpy not able to sleep both night.Door locked ck was not properly secured as other person by mistake entered in our roomOverall excellent location, quite, relaxing, helpful staff

A great place to stay I would recommend this resort to anyone

Stayed for one night, wish we were able to stay longer. Our room was steps away from the lake so we had an amazing view. The room was very clean and was better than we were expecting. We could have cooked a meal if we wanted, had a full size fridge, microwave, stove etc.The grounds were well kept with a nice sandy beach. We would have taken advantage of the fire pit but unfortunately it had rained. Owner was very nice. We will definitely be returning.

We first visited on the July long weekend.  It was a last minute decision and we got the very last room in the old lodge.  The decor is outdated but the room was well-equipped and functional.  We had a terrific view of the lake from our second-story balcony.  Nice beach, lots of beach chairs and lots of activities for the kids.  
We went back again on the Labour Day long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  Owners are planning to renovate the old lodge so we're looking at renting one of the cottages for next summer.

Amazing little spot not too far from the city.

Balsam Resort has boat docking on property so very convenient for boaters. Downfall was no restaurant and no taxis to get to Fenelon Falls or Cocboconk to eat.  Fortunately, owner was very helpful and got a friend to drive us to and from the nearest town to a restaurant for dinner. Charged $20.00 total. We were happy!
Unit was like a townhouse with 2 bedrooms and bath upstairs and kitchen, living/dining are on main level.  Patio door with patio and table and chairs on patio.  All clean and pretty basic but comfortable.  Beds could be better.  Expensive for one night $350.00 +.

Great overnight spot when boating on Trent Severn System

When it was time to check out & depart, our tire was completely flat! Jim kindly & expertly patched up the tire, and we got home safely. He did not accept money we offered, but we are so very grateful for his help. The tire is still holding up and has not lost any air at all! The weather was lousy during our stay, but Jim & Liz's sunny disposition is not forgotten.
