Average accommodation in nice setting.   But owner had contractor drilling and hammering at 7.30am in the morning right outside our room when we were trying to sleep.  Not really impressed and because of that would not stay there again.

Stayed at Big Fish Lodge in Port Renfrew BC it is a great place right on the water, small beach and great views. Lodge sleeps 24 {approx} has a great room, wood heater, kitchen and all cooking facilities, pool table,foose ball, dining table ,large,fabuolus sitting room, outdoor fireplaces,covered or uncovered, all around an excellent west coast experience, ask for Bonnie the proprietor.

The lodge was very comfortable and the location excellent.  It is right on the beach with beautiful views. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters which is a bit removed from other rooms and common areas, so very private.  Bonnie was very flexible and provided good information.  Wifi was free. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Option for Port Renfrew

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at Big Fish Lodge. Our room had a little balcony & looked out over the bay. There is plenty of parking & you can walk to a restaurant. The beach access was amazing...with HUGH logs to scramble over if you like.
Breakfast in the morning was amazing...fresh cooked eggs, baked goods...fresh juice & coffee.

The house itself is very nice, especially for a large group: nice location with a view, well appointed kitchen, lots of bedrooms. But the most amazing part was the breskfasts prepared by Bonnie. The best I have ever had. the homemade croissants were as good as I had in Paris, the bacon was divine, fruit and yogurt fresh and yummy, french toast, potaotoes...I could go on and on. the house is good but the breakfasts amke it stellar.

We arrived at night, off-season, everything was off in the city. We found the lodge thanks to Bookiing.com, a quarter of an hour after we were there. We were just two couples, the house is very large with a huge living space, and a big American kitchen. The space is very nice and even more so in the morning when we wake up: view of the beach of our bedroom and living room on the ground floor. Large terrace that gives more on the beach. It was a little sad it was raining but you could imagine the bustle in season. The beach is absolutely extraordinary with tree trunks everywhere. It's a splendid and splendid corner to the east. The lodge was a cool place to stay, so you can imagine the splendid night.

Three beautiful surprises

In fact, the Big Fish Lodge is not a hotel: it's a very spacious room where you can (if you want to) hang out with other guests (if you have them) until the late evening in comfortable seats or billiards. In this main house there are a few rooms upstairs, and right next to the house there are small outbuildings where each one has a stacked hash. But we had a very spacious room behind it.

Wonderful, hearty little God

Finding suitable accommodation for a group of 10 cyclists can be a challenge. The Big Fish Lodge was perfect with its multiple rooms, large common area and included breakfast. Bonnie was a fabulous host, making it a comfortable stay for all. If you’re a large group, check into the possibility of a dinner catered by Tahnee. We had a superb meal, featuring crab and salmon.

Very nice location right on the water with access to the beach.
Great open common area with a pool table, foosball table, and guitar.
Bonnie manages the establishment, and provides a very nice breakfast with bacon and good coffee.
Nice outside sitting/eating areas also available to enjoy morning/mid-day or evening times outside.
Free Wi-Fi available.
The property is showing its age, and a bit more attention to detail (there was only a sliver of pool cue chalk available) would have rated this higher.

Comfortable accommodation

We stayed at Big Fish Lodge for one night only prior to hiking the West Coast Trail. My husband and I both loved the Lodge both for its genuine warm hospitality and comfort. The view from our window overlooking the water was simply to die for. The accommodations are relatively simple but clean and so very well suited to the obviously warmth and care of this small, remote fishing community. The lodge also features a most inviting 'common room' including a kitchen that can be used for cooking one's own meals, a social center and pool table, and an absolutely delightful back patio and yard from which to enjoy the gorgeous beach and scenery. Breakfasts are simple and homey. Highly recommended if you are in the area!
