This was a wonderful stay from start to finish!  The inn is not nee and shiny but it IS old snd charming.  The chef was super cool.  Christine the manager (owner?) was great.  She was accommodating, always helpful, and truly a special host.  Becca our waitress was great too and deserves praise as well. Our room was cute and had all the necessities one needed.  I'd DEFINITELY return!

Beautiful inn with amazing views of the water from the decks. We woke up to a glorious morning and enjoyed coffee in the room with a view!

Setting was outstanding, we were not told the the restaurant was closed until the day before we checked in. Staff was very helpful when checking in, looked for a place to have dinner because of the holiday everything in Hubbard was closed.

Very nice inn above a very nice restaurant! Very nice room, only drawbacks were no table/desk or microwave, frig. Shower was small but functional, no issues. Great bed! Fantastic view!!!

The inn was fabulous. Beautiful clean room with lovely antique furniture.  A huge deck overlooking the barbour right outside our room. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were great. We will definately go back...

This location was off the beaten path but a nice little gem with a picturesque  water view, restaurant and small marina. The staff were friendly, the accommodations comfortable and clean for an older facility.

Stumbled upon this GEM last year when visiting the area!!! Ohhhh my! We knew that we absolutely had to return this time around too while visiting Halifax! Totally worth the drive out! Went for lunch twice!Beautifully situated overlooking a marina! Owners are so friendly! So are all servers! Shout out to Hannah! The seafood chowder is ABSOLUTELY the BEST! Nothing compares to it! A must try!!! The lobster roll is really yummy! Love their beet salad as well! Everything is prepared from scratch and is beautifully presented! The establishment is also licensed! And there are rooms upstairs to stay, something we’d love to do at some point! This place is an absolute gem! We are still in awe!

This property is a gem!   Exceeded expectations in all categories. Management made the experience as if you were friends visiting at their summer house. Food was perfect and the view a painting every hour of the day. A must if you are within 100 miles!

Vintage Charm!

Lovely position exactly as it appeared on their website.  Our room met our needs well.  Disappointed that the restaurant and bar were closed on the Monday & Tuesday of our visit.  We arrived Sunday left Tuesday.  Unfortunately our mussels were over cooked but the delightful serving staff made up for this.

BEST Seafood Chowder!

My girlfriend and I stumbled across this lovable bar area within the Tuna Blue  restaurant last Sunday after we had exhausted everywhere looking for an open bar on a Sunday in the country. A perfect hostess named Hannah smiled a perfect smile to us as she asked us what we might like. For a couple short hours, we laughed and she laughed in a camaraderie only encountered when happy customers meet an absolutely gracious and genuine person. All other employees observed by us were truly mirthful with the obvious high morale provided by the owners of this hotel. I could go on waxing poetic about how some places and people really deserve our business and loyalty but I won't. This place has a class not experienced without a lot more pomp and circumstance. Thank you Hannah for making us feel like celebrities and sending us off with our gifts.

Bar Mixologist Hannah is a rare gem among the jewels in this estabishment.

Lovely Inn in Hubbards Nova Scotia right on the water.  There are decks to relax on looking out at the harbour.  We were greeted by one of the owners,  Karen,  upon our arrival; she showed us around the property and helped us with our bags to our room.  Rooms are spacious, super clean and have beautifully decor.  There is a basket of goodies in your room to enjoy !  Had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant on site and you can even enjoy a drink near the dock.  Thanks so much for a wonderful stay, next time will have to be for more than one night.

We’ve been bicycling Nova Scotia the past two weeks and saved the Rum Runners rail trail for the last stretch.  Noticing The Blue Tunas location and stellar reviews, we booked one night! We were immediately informed we’d have to find dinner elsewhere due to a  previously booked event. 
However, upon arrival, soaked to the bone, we were graciously welcomed by one of the co-owners, Karen.  Being a fellow cyclist, Karen understood the hardship of cleaning up and then having to leave the premises in the pouring rain for dinner.  To our surprise and delight,  a delicious  meal was secured for us. Chef Steve prepared a scrumptious Lobster Roll with fresh green salad and a heavenly vegan chocolate cake.  The beautifully appointed “Harnish” room on the 3rd floor was spacious and appointed in modern ocean blue green hues with a private exterior deck and views of the harbor. We can’t praise the staff, accommodations or location enough!

Welcoming Inn with friendly, competent staff!

We visited Tuna Blue this summer and stayed at the Marina. This time we stayed at the Inn. It is such a beautiful place. We were in a room on the top floor with a deck and an amazing view over the bay. Renovated bathroom with built in shower. Coffee maker in each room and fridge in the hall to keep drinks cold. 

Tuna Blue used to be the Dauphinee Inn but it has been through extensive Renovations since the new owners took over this year so please disregard any earlier reviews. 

The food is delicious and the atmosphere even in Covid times is fun and family like with live music on most weekend nights. 

Look forward for next time! 

Such a beautiful, friendly place 

We recenty spent the weekend at the Tuna Blue Inn on the Marina. What an amazing spot. Great service, food and hospitaly. The live music was a nice touch and the staff were pleasant and eficient. During our stay we had the Fish tacos, fish and chips, lobster Mac'n cheese and nachos.  All great choices. The staff were very conscientious of making the customer feel comfortable by following covid-19 protocol with wearing masks and not over crowding the dining areas. There was nice seating outside and down by the water where they can serve food and drink where you feel like you're eating on the water. Friends of ours had rooms in the inn and took advantage of the huge private deck available to the guests staying in the rooms. Amazing views!

Booked again for next year

This restaurant and inn (formerly the Dauphinee Inn) has been a fixture in the gorgeous seaside town of Hubbards for many years, but the new owners have taken it to the next level! We stayed there this past weekend (Aug 2020) and were absolutely blown away with the changes they have made at Tuna Blue! 

The rooms were beautifully appointed in light coastal colours, accents and linens, with gorgeous antique beds that really complimented the character of the house (from the early 1800s i think). The brand new AC units were highly appreciated, as it was roasting hot on the patio right outside our room, but refreshingly cool inside. 

We especially loved the upper patio, above the restaurant patio, that is available to guests who are staying there. We all remarked that this must be one of the top 3 spots in Nova Scotia to watch a sunset!  

The restaurant downstairs was busy and the live music really added to the east coast vibe. We all enjoyed our meals (particularly the fish and chips and lobster salad!) and the cocktails were great too. The staff were friendly, attentive and they all did a great job of providing a great time while ensuring the restaurant was adhering to COVID rules.

The upper patio was just as beautiful the next morning, as several in our party did some yoga on it, overlooking that amazing view of the cove. We didn't get to have the brunch...but will definitely be back to try it next time. Thanks so much for the stay...one of the highlights of our summer :)

The ambience at the restaurant was excellent and the restaurant has been completely renovated.
You have a perfect view of sunset. 
The marina is expanded also so friends with boats can stay or just join for lunch or dinner
