Bluenose Inn and Suites

Easily reached from the Halifax airport with an attached restaurant that features regional Acadian specialties. Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet. Staff is friendly and helpful. No frills but it's a convenient place to spend the night before setting off on your adventures.

I am just about to take off on another trip and realize I have not sent in a review for my stay last August at the Bluenose Inn & Suites. I stayed there for 2 days and had a wonderful experience, we would like to stay there again. If you are looking for extreme fancy this is not your stop....but if you are more interested in value for your money and get great service from staff who care about giving you the best ...then this is certainly your stop. I stayed at another hotel prior to that one and I will not give a review because the treatment was awful. The Bluenose has updated rooms also. It was the bad service that sent me finding another location for the remainder of that trip that was outstanding at the the Bluenose. At the Bluenose you also get a nice view of the water as you drive along the main road on that strip. It was our first time in Nova Scotia and we truly enoyed.

Summer 2017 Visiting Nova Scotia For The First time

Older but convenient

The hotel is good, it is in a good location and has a good view to Badford Basin. They have a nice staff. The price could be more cheap, the room smell humidity. It was nice for one night but it could be better.

Nice but could be better!

This is the worst place to stay in Halifax, I had rented the extended stay from October 2019, You never knew if you were going to have running water, if you had water you didn't have hot water. The excuses from the boiler, to leaks in room with the old pipes, in my whole time there, I honestly can't say that their was a week with full water, the water pressure was terrible when taking a shower, my curtain in the kitchen didn't close so needed to hold it together with a hair clip. it advised included AC, AC are to be in an available for use by the long weekend, nope never went in till June and we had already surpassed the most humid days, more excuses. I will say that the staff was friendly, however the owner is a real piece of cake and I am not sure why he has a GM onsite if he does not allow her to think and handle situations as they arise. Their word means nothing. The rooms are a disgrace , the property needs much work done to it.  the Cleaning staff comes in and does a spit shine, when changing the beds, she throws the clean items on the floor, comforters are never washed. the room stank of smoke all the time even though you are not to smoke in the rooms, however I guess if you are staff and live onsite you can do anything you wish. I would not like to see anyone stay at this motel is what is should be called, in NO way is this anything fancy as an inn or suites. The owner needs to wake up and put some money into this building, instead of renting out his extended rooms for 1400.00 every 30 days and you get nothing for it, the last time the house keeper came in to clean was in December. The lock on the door freezes or something, you come home from a night out and your locked out of your room, need to call the night manager and hopefully they are on site or hear the phone. Just keep your money and peace of mind, spend more and stay somewhere nicer, the internet was so bad as well. Will never stay nor recommend this place to anyone

DO NOT STAY HERE

We stayed in room 18, the carpet was dirty, tap in bathtub dripped about a 2 littre bottle per hour. In the morning not hot water to be found. was told boiler was broken.No restaurant on site.Staff was helpful.

Just no across the board. Don't do it. The toilet and sink are in a separate room. The shower didn't work. The smell was stale. The room had peeling paint and a view of the oil tank. The walkway to the room was decrepit and littered with disrepair and cigarettes. We left immediately. Just no.
