My honey used to go there as a child with his family in the 1970s. It was so amazing =to go back 40 years later and relive things with him! Next time will be a whole week for sure! Fishing is good and they are so wanting to make sure you have a good time!

We went to Delmonte this past weekend for a family wedding - I can't say enough good things about it - we LOVED it there. It's beautiful and quaint and so clean. There's lots to do with kayaks and peddle boats with life jackets and noodles for swimming - a really nice beach with a fire pit for bonfires. The owners were so kind and accommodating and obviously take a lot of pride in their resort. There was no air conditioning on what happened to be a very warm weekend; the rooms have ceiling fans so that helped a lot-the dance hall (where the reception was) was a little uncomfortably warm I have to admit - but not enough to ruin the weekend OR the wedding - I can't wait for an opportunity to go back to Delmonte in the Pines!

What a cool place.  Nestled in the woods on the north shore of Sparrow Lake the resort offers a wide variety of lodging.  It does not have air conditioning but the cooler temperatures of this area make it nice.  We took a fan and I recommend this if traveling in late July or early August.  They have kayaks, canoes and a place to swim and fish.  Tennis courts too.

Delmonte in the Pines was the ideal location for our wedding. We invited friends and family from all over the world (we had people from New Zealand, Bermuda, Denmark, USA, England, and all over Canada attending, so we wanted somewhere they could stay and get to know each other). Delmonte offered a perfect place that was just us, quaint self-catered cottage-style rooms, plenty of activities from kayaking, peddle boats, canoes, tennis, volleyball, etc! We rented SUPs from a nearby company to keep for the week as well. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and JoAnn and Rich were so so helpful and lovely people all round! 
Delmonte is 100% family run - they had campfires set up every night... I can't say enough good things about this place!!

While it has been awhile since we have been there, a week at Delmonte was a key vacation for the family when the kids were young.  Lots of activities organized by owners helped the kids get to know each other.   The week always ended with the parent/kid ball game and an evening dance. Nice beach and lots of water activities.  The accommodation are great for having a casual week and not having to worry about kids tracking in the sand.

Family Wedding Weekend

From old times to present - A real throw back to family resort life

Our group had nothing but problems with this resort. It  became abundantly clear that if you are not one of their regular guests who have been staying there for 30+ years, they micro analyze everything you do, and complain about everything. Meanwhile the rooms are dirty, the buildings need significant repairs. We had multiple stings from several wasp nests around the property, a twisted ankle from loose stairs, terrible odours that were masked by air fresheners. Do not recommend at all.
