Gold Door Inn

We loved this place.  An old house converted into an inn.  It has signs of age but was amazing.  We stayed on the main floor and had a spacious room with quaint ensuite. This in is walking distance to parliament and a fantastic shopping area.

What a wonderful place to stay! It is well stocked with all the essentials and very comfortable. We were able to park here and bike all over downtown Ottawa seeing the Rideau Canal, the Parliamentary buildings and several museums. Five stars for the location and the place.

It's walking distance to Byward market and the Convention Centre. Great old house with 8 rooms, two kitchens (main and 3rd floor) and two bathrooms (on the 2nd and 3rd floor). Rooms on main floor have their own bathrooms. The bedrooms are quite spacious though, each with a TV!

My room was absolutely perfect: clean, beautiful, cozy.  The location of the home is ideal, walking distance to parliament, very quick walk to the Shaw Centre.  There was some updating in the hallway going on which was a concern when I first walked in, but after I saw my room I felt right at home. Paula was friendly, easy to communicate with and prompt with replying.

Love the location!

Location of this B&B was perfect. We walked to the market for dinner.  Also to the Museum of Canadian History. The building is a charming old walk up. The room was advertised as ‘fabulous’ but didn’t quite measure up. It was surface clean. Lots of cobwebs and dust where the swifter won’t reach. The comforter was yellowed and old. Should be trashed. The very saving grace is the well stocked kitchen and make your own breakfast. More of a hostel than B&B. Never met ‘Paula’.
