Bighorn Inn & Suites

I stayed here for two nights in mid-December. What a well-maintained little place where the location is key! It is situated 4 kms east of Canmore on the Trans-Canada Hwy. Surrounded by The Canadian Rockies - the views are breathtaking. The room was spacious; had a double bed; full bathroom with shower & tub; lots of floor space; ample storage space for one's belongings; equipped with a flatscreen TV, internet access, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, additional bedding, table & chairs, and a window that looks out at the mountains. The room itself was spotlessly clean with new carpet; walls are freshly painted; ample lighting; and it has little touches of oak or pine furniture pieces throughout giving it a rustic feel. My room happened to be located at the back of the motel where highway noise was not an issue - my sleep is rarely bothered by noise. I mention this because I have seen reviews here that mentioned the noise from the highway as being annoying. I would suggest that light sleepers request a room at the back. Staff - Friendly & efficient Ryan is very personable & accommodating. He speaks both English & French - as well as his Asian mother tongue. He seems to take care of everything - from the Front Office duties to the meticulous cleaning of the suites and the upkeep outside. He is a lovely young fellow who has been employed there for ~ 18 months now & who remains on site. All in all, I highly recommend the Big Horn Motel for it's convenient location & for value for money. It is in a small hamlet that is very safe - for walking about in. There was not a thing I could find fault with!
