Foxingham Farm Bed and Breakfast

Pulling up the driveway I knew this was exactly what we needed. A beautiful little farm house nestled beside trees on a large country property. We were immediately greeted by Martin's warm smile. We asked if we could play Bocce he pointed out a perfect big lawn with an apple tree then took us on a small tour of the house. 

   The left wing is mainly used by the guests apart from office which is used by Martin's wife in the weekday mornings. There is a beautifully appointed living room done in a French provence style which has a TV with Netflix, a gas fireplace, original windows with nice views, overall it's very romantic and clean. The bedrooms are upstairs, each one has its own theme and are very cute. The bathroom is shared but we didn't see the other couple until the next day. The bathroom is updated and has a large bathtub separate from the shower. There is a mini fridge in hallway as well. We stayed two nights and the second night we were the only guests.  
 
    Breakfast was nice and simple fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, bagles and cream cheese was also offered...oh and coffee and tea. We had a wonderful peaceful stay, watching Netflix. Playing Bocce, reading, hiking the property down to the river, driving to creemore. We also enjoyed meeting Manie their little white doggy. Which is usually kept in the right wing of the home. The atmosphere and intriguing conversations of travel were second to none. Martin was a perfect host, I can say out of all my travels around the world he is by for the best. Picture Perfect

This B&B should be used a fall/winter accommodation only.  When I arrived the A/C was on and I thought "great I will sleep good with the A/C on."  I left to my function and returned by 11 p.m. to find the A/C off and the room  hot and  humid. I did not sleep more than two hours that night and left at 5a.m.  What a waste of money. ($180.00)   I would have been better off driving the 3)  hours back home and sleeping in my own house with a/c.

Charming old farmhouse w/basic accommodations

We traveled off season time and also middle of the week. So we didn't have to share the house, except with owners. Practically we had a half of the house to ourselves. 

The breakfast was scrumptious, and as was mentioned in other reviews, adjusted to our liking and taste. Martin is truly a great host and cook. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to chat with Mrs. Shalani. But we met their dog Mansfield. Who is a baby and a guard dog of the house. 

The house itself is charming. We wish to see it during different seasons as well. There are plenty of hiking opportunities nearby. Martin can give you all sort of secret spots to explore. 

No one mentioned before, but we think the place is perfect for star gazing if you come not during skiing season. The stars are bright and many. Not like in the city. 

We stayed in a Rose room, which is the most spacious room, except the fact that it is missing a closet. There are hangers on the door and a chest of drawers you can keep your clothes in. It is also the only room that has a balcony. And it looks like it is used to be a Master bedroom of sort as it is adjacent to the shared bathroom. I would say that this is the room with the most of the light. 

Another room is across of the corridor and called a Lavender room. Also very charming. Feels a bit smaller, but has a walk in closet, so you can hide all your things  away. If I am not mistaken it overlooks the roof of the house with forest in a horizon. 

The third room is a Cornflower room. It is the most secluded. Away from the traffic if you can call it so. It also has a walk in closet and a desk. The sun shines in the middle of the day. 

Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures of a lounge room. We loved the ceiling chandelier there. We also watched Netflix before going to bed. 

Our stay was very enjoyable one. Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for the experience of old fashioned country days.

A beautiful house for cozy stay in.

First off I did this adventure with our two grandchildren to give them a different experience  boy 15 and girl 13  We have travelled as the four of us every summer now for about ten years mainly in hotels  So lot of question before hand .Travelling to the country I forgot the distance between every thing so hence to " are we there yet "questions   The grandson said as we arrived "this is an old house " I replied yes a wonderful old farm house in the country . Next question was do they have WiFi ? It went on like that for a while until they both realized how lovely and quite the country was. We had a wonderful meal at Mrs. Mitchell and drove around visiting Creemore and the surrounding area . The sleeping arrangement where very comfortable for my husband and myself but the children where dreaming of ghost because this was an old farm house they said . LOL  Breakfast was fantastic . Overall would the children do it again NO . Would my husband I do it again yes ,if Martin and his wife sat down with us and chatted more . Would have love to know more history on the place . I needed to keep in mind to maintain a place like this takes a lot of time   Thank you Martin next time we will come by ourselves and you and your wife share the coffee with us

Very different and interesting

My husband and I stayed at Foxingham for 2 nights in mid January. It was our first time there and our first time in the Mansfield area. We came for a ski weekend getaway. 

Martin and Shalani are the owners of this beautiful old farmhouse.  They are very welcoming and warm, we had lots of fun and engaging conversations.

If you are a skier, the location couldn’t be better. We could literally hear the snow machines at Mansfield Ski Club from our room, as it is right across the street (I think it’s members only mostly, but there are times when public can ski as well). Also, the Mansfield Outdoor Centre, across the street the other way, has public cross-country skiing. 

The B&B has three bedrooms, a shared bathroom and a lounge. The kitchen where breakfast is served is shared, and the hosts live in a separate area of the home.

The property is absolutely stunning. Being there in January, there was tons of snow and it looked so magical. They lent us their snowshoes and we had a nice walk around their property.

We stayed in the Rose room. It was gorgeous and cozy. The shared bathroom is recently updated and modern. We had no problems in sharing the bathroom with other guests. Everyone got the time they needed. 

Breakfast was delicious, yogurt and fruit to start, with bacon and eggs made to our specifications. Martin is a great cook and very accommodating with dietary restrictions, i.e. gluten free/non-dairy milk, etc. Don’t be shy to just tell him what you need!

I cannot emphasize enough how clean the house was! Bedroom, bathroom, lounge, kitchen, all spotless.

Shalani has done a great job decorating the house in the "shabby chic" way.  And she has some wonderful paintings you can purchase as well. 😉

All in all a great stay, looking forward to returning in the summer!

Magnificent stay!

A lovely home of character and charm with equally enjoyable hosts.  The surrounding area was breathtaking even on a blustery winter weekend.  We felt very comfortable in all aspects of our stay.  We hope to return annually in different seasons to appreciate all this place has to offer!

Quintessential Country Escape

We fell in love with the snug old farmhouse the moment we drove up to it: It’s quietly situated in a side street with a wonderful view of the hills around it and into the valley. 
Martin gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home right away with a nice pot of tea and good conversation. His little dog Mansfield provided much entertainment. Our room on the first floor had a balcony, a comfortable bed and a bathroom with a jaccuzi. There are many things to do around here, just ask Martin, he knows all the good places! After a long walk in a nearby park and a very good dinner in a former schoolhouse we slept like babies. Martin made us a delicious breakfast the next morning and we were sad to leave Foxingham Farm after only one night.  
Thank you for a wonderful stay, we hope to come again!

A wonderful place

Came up for a 2 night stay and really glad we booked here.

Martin and Shalani made us feel right at home, like family.

After booking, I received a phone call from Martin to confirm the booking and check for any food preferences, allergies, etc.

Another reviewer complained about the breakfast, I found it generous and Martin actually knows how to scramble eggs and make a proper pot of tea.  He went out of his way to procure a specialty item for another guest.  This is first class personalized service at it's best!

The room was quite comfortable and my husband enjoyed the jacuzzi tub.

The B&B is right across from Mansfield Ski and the views are beautiful.

This is not a boutique hotel calling itself a B&B.  It is a Victorian Farmhouse in a beautiful part of the province.  When you stay here, you really do feel welcomed by two of the nicest people.

Lovely B&B

We did not get to enjoy everything the area has to offer as we came for a very quick and purposed trip.  We stayed one night and it was really great!  The views alone make it worth going there with a beautiful view into the valley below.   It was also across from a ski hill which would be fun I imagine in the winter.  The farm house itself was very pretty and updated.  The owners were friendly and helpful.  The breakfast the next morning was very good.  All in all a great B&B.

Very Nice With Wonderful Views

My husband and I stayed at Foxingham Farm B&B for a night in July 2016. The hosts, Martin and Shalani were very hospitable and friendly. The moment we checked in, Martin greeted us with a nice cup of coffee and showed us around the home. This was our first night away since we had our baby, so it was great the B&B had free wifi that we could stay connected. We loved the delicious and filling breakfast Martin made for us. Highly recommend staying here!
