Arrived late during a snowstorm happy to had a warm room to stay

The bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever been in at an hotel as is the pillows you just don’t want to get out of it

I spent a pleasant night here, had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant.  There is a lounge that I did not spend any time in.  The food was fine.I noticed that my room had a form in case I spotted anything amiss.  I like touches like that.The hotel has a check in time of 2 pm, most likely because people have to line up for the ferry by 9:45 amI noticed that this hotel has a single EV charging station with a surprising 225 kWh charge rate!

Well-run hotel

Our stay at the PAB Hotel was comfortable and convenient even though the place is definitely starting to show it's age our stay was still great and this is mainly due to two amazing staff members Rosemary and Barbara. These two ladies went above and beyond to make our stay amazing and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there in the future!!!

Stayed for a night;  after a ferry landed, about a dozen parties lined up to register for the night.  The staff had obviously been through this before and handled the rush efficiently and cheerfully.  Same as the dining room, busy, but they took care of all of us travellers.  They were great.  Had a good sleep.  Some neat artifacts and retired rail cars next door, unfortunately it was closed mid August.  Nice stay.

This was very close to the ferry pier which comes from Sydney. A cute little place not to many places to eat near by but the restaurant in the hotel was pretty good we ate our breakfast there ..there was a little area out fort you could walk around and take pictures welcoming you to Newfoundland.  Do not drive at night the Moose are very big and are out in the evening

Quaint little place but clean

Hotel Port Aux Basques worked very nicely for what I was doing: finishing a long drive through Newfoundland followed by a ferry trip over to Nova Scotia. I arrived later than the hotel's restaurant's hours, so they pointed me to where there were places I could get food. The hotel itself was very clean, and parking was easy. I was in a room in which the easiest way to access my room was up the stairs; I did not sense there was an elevator. At my check-in, I was told I could have saved money if I had *not* booked through Expedia, which I did not find helpful since the frequency of my stays in Port aux Basques, NL is exceedingly low. Perhaps that information would have helped long before, and it did not feel good to be welcomed to the hotel by being told I messed up.

While this hotel is in need of some upgrades, it is very comfortable and the staff is wonderful. The room had a comfortable bed, a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and bathroom toiletries. The restaurant serves delicious meals (we had dinner there). There is a washer (including detergent) and a dryer that guests can use for a nominal fee ($5).

Friendly staff and a comfortable room

Stayed one night before taking the ferry to Nova Scotia the next morning.  Literally minutes from the terminal.  The room was comfortable and super clean, and the staff were lovey!!  We didn't eat in the restaurant, but heard favourable things about it.  We opted for Subway which is just across the street.  

The price of the room was so good, something I didn't expect with the way prices have risen since the pandemic.  We would definitely stay here again without hesitation.  :)

Quality hotel; great value!

I came here, the evening before my return trip to Nova Scotia, after a delightful five-day journey around Newfoundland.  The set-up was similar to many European small hotels-no elevator.  I had no trouble getting up to the second floor, but there were many people older than me, who had to drag their luggage slowly up the stairs.  
Otherwise, the hotel was delightful- pleasant staff, clean room, good WiFi.  The view was of the neighbourhood park, nothing special.  I would stay here again, just for the sake of being close to  the ferry.

A Utilitarian, but Well-Appointed Hotel

Nice little hotel. Not much going on in this town, so its pretty much there for the Marine ferry passengers. Myself being one of them.

It is a very basic hotel without a lot to do around and the rooms are quite minimalist
