The host is attentive to clients need. The place is clean.

Nice place, was nicer then expected. The cottage was clean  staff are friendly. Great location! It has everything you need to prepare meals if your on a budget. It worked great for our family of 4. Two bedrooms, deck fire pit and BBQ. I would stay here again.

Lovely cottage and property..very clean and child friendly

Fantastic little area with very a comfortable environment. The full kitchen with dishes was awesome. If/when we come back we will absolutely be booking again. Worth the price for the spot you get!

Super cute, cozy cottage, located close to all the things we wanted to do! It was just me and my mom, but we both agreed that it would be ideal for a small family. Small kitchen to cook if that was desired.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Our cottage did have a bit of a slope to the floor causing the stove to be uneven so it was a balancing act to cook with. The toilet was a little wobbly as we think the bolt was loose. Other then that it was clean, beds were comfortable and all the essentials were there. Gardens were beautiful as well. Will definitely return.

The best!! We just returned back from a week in Cavandish, PEI. We loved this cottage! Grounds are kept clean and impeccable! The cottage was a 2 bedroom and very clean and fully equipped for anything! The location could not be any better! It is centrally located from everything including restaurants and amusement parks as well as a grocery store with literally everything you need. We stayed in cabin 10 and the beds were comfy and thankfully, AC worked great! It was also great to have a swim in the pool and a quick dip in the hot tub.

Awesome Cottages!

Love the place close to the beach, found the place to be great for families there amusement parks near by. Only problem was the coffee maker it didn’t work and I had read about so wasn’t surprised but I managed there was a kettle so made drip coffee. Everything was confortable especially the king size bed

The property was really cute and functional. It has everything you needed. It could use some updates such as more outlets and plumbing. And some attention to cleaniness as there was mold in the shower that should be addressed.  Other than than it had a great outdoor space and very close to everything in cavendish. I would stay there again

The cottage was very nice except it would have been nice if there were curtains in the bedrooms so you are not woke up at dawn with blazing sun.  Also our bbq grill did not heat up so we were unable to use it.   A good suggestion would be for them to supply wood for the fire pits.  We did not know we had to supply our own so did not have a fire.

Myself and two artist friend stayed here for Kensington's Plein air event.  The location was great, cottage was just perfect for us.  We enjoyed morning sunrise coffee and evening moonrise wine on the porch.  The firepits were a welcoming touch that encouraged mingling with the other vacationers.  I definitely would stay again.

The stay was pleasant except for the first night.  Travelling by air from Alberta, we arrived late and had been promised an open cottage with light left on.  This was not well communicated resulting in everything being dark and locked.  I’m 74 yrs. and had to sleep with my granddaughter in the car.  Nothing else in the area was open or awake.  Not a good start to a week long vacation.Otherwise the  owners are well organized and friendly and profusely apologized.For others to know - they live in the back of the office which we were’t aware of.

Bad start

We very much enjoyed our stay at Avonlea Cottages. The cottages are in a wonderful location. Close to the many tourist attractions that Cavendish offers. Added bonus there is the Cavendish minimart across the road. The cottage exceeded my expectations and provided what I needed for my stay with improvising on occasion. The grounds were well kept and the cottages looked well cared for.

This property is very well situated near all amenities and would make an excellent choice of accommodation during the peak tourist season. We came just after tourist season ended so we were the only ones there, unfortunately all amenities are pretty much shut down as well.  The town of Cavendish doesn't have much to offer when the season is over as pretty much everything shuts down with it but we had an opportunity to st least see the Green Gables house. The property is very clean and well maintained, management is very nice but not too attentive,  at least not to us. They said the hot tub was still open but when we went to use it, it was not.  Other than that, it was a nice quiet stay.

We have stayed at this location two years in a row and love it.   The owners are very friendly, they remembered us this year and ended up upgrading our cabin to keep us in the same location the whole week (as we had booked our time in two separate reservations due to a change in plans).   Both cottages that we have stayed in have been very nice with a kitchen, AC, and (important with kids) a clean bathtub.   I love the communal fire pits outside of the cabins - they are wonderful for getting to know your neighbors.   Last year we noticed that there was a bees nest in the ground on the playground on the property, and this year we noticed the owners roto-tilling the whole playground, presumably to avoid this issue.   The playground itself was great with the kids.   The pool does not open until mid-late June because of cold temperatures on the Island, so just an FYI if you are coming early in the season and want to use the pool, you might want to call them and check to see if it's open.   This wasn't an issue for us given that the waterpark next door was open.

If I had to quote any downside it's that we saw a few carpenter ants in our cabin - that said, we've had this issue in multiple properties that we've stayed in the Cavendish area (I think it's just a fact of life in the country) and as soon as we mentioned it to the owners they came out and sprayed for them.

Overall we were very happy and plan to return again next year!
