Le Plateau - RVMT

Check in is at 5. I missed seeing this. We went and tried to check in at 2:30 when we arrived in the area. We left Oakville at 6 am and thought we could get settled in to the room and then explore. It was POURING rain when we arrived. We were told our room wasn't ready and that check in was at 5, so we thought ok we'll go have something to eat. We went to the Shack (horrible) and then tried to wander but again, rain! We got in the car and drove around and got familiar with the area. We were all soaking wet at this point, even though we had umbrellas. We called, and called and called. They were swamped. Finally at 6pm we went back to the main office and they told us the room was still not ready, but the inspector would be there soon. At this point I was getting a bit cranky, BUT I will say that I did appreciate the extra measures they were taking to be sure we were safe. I was just ready to get settled. We sat in the parking lot and waited for the cleaners to finish. We had a 3 bedroom fo 5 of us. The master was upstairs which gave us privacy. The room was also massive. It had a little reading nook. The only caveat with the master would be if you go to bathroom at night be careful of the slope ceiling, haha. I almost banged my head a few times. There's so many angles and the pitch is so high, walking in the dark could be dangerous. My daughter and her friend had their own little wing with 2 twin beds and bathroom. My son had his own room with 2 twin beds and bathroom. There was a large table that could seat 8, a decent kitchen with all the utensils, appliances we needed. A dishwasher, even though I hand washed everything. My only complaint would be there wasn't ample comfortable seating in the main area. just a 3 person couch and a worn out recliner. It's not really a complaint but if I had to nit pick. The carpets are pretty gross and stained in the main area. but overall I was very happy. I found it to be very clean except for beside the stove, there was a pile of crumbs. I would recommend the place and would stay here. Justas an added mention. When we went back to see the status of our room, we spoke with Sylvie. She was very sweet and kind. It's always important to mention when you get good service. Thank you Sylvie :-)
