The Rainforest and the village and the good food .....all superb
We visited the island on a very rainy day and it did not matter
We walked in the forest learned a lot about"the secret lives of trees" and went back to mainland with the ferry

I went over to Bowen island to visit my friend and fell in love .we went hiking on a few of the trails which there are alot of trail s that are breath taking among 17 bnbs that are up there .I went up to this secret spot where a over a thousand year tree just incredible walked the labrinth on 37 acres of open space just another way of life the people are so friendly laid back in this little community of awesomeness. I would recommend this to anyone who would love to go over just as a day trip .

We came down to elope and Heidi helped us find a really great local place to get married. It was so beautiful and was just a short walk from our place! It was like a magical getaway. 
Heidi was so nice, welcoming and helpful. I'm really grateful to her. 
Our room was really modern and romantic with a great King Sized bed, a jacuzzi and even access to a hot tub. 
You really felt like you were hiding away. No one was going to stumble on you by accident. You are at the very end of a road which would deter some people. The road was filled with pot holes and was slow going. However, I thought about it and realized that it would definitely deter people from coming up on your little slice of heaven. 
The view was really pretty and it wasn't actually that far from town. I'd stay here again and again.

We had a lovely two night stay at Bowen Island Hideaway as part of our honeymoon to BC and had a wonderful relaxing time.  It was the perfect getaway away from all the hustle and bustle a great place to visit if you are looking for some peace and quiet !

We eloped here!

Amazing island

Peaceful stay

The location was beautiful and the hot tub was lovely. Overall the room was quite nice. A good selection of DVDs and books available, and there was homemade jam, granola, fruit, and milk in the room, which was a very nice touch. (But no hot breakfast provided because it was off season.) It was a bit overpriced for what we got, and there are a few reasons we may not return:
-the owners were very noisy. Almost constant stomping upstairs that woke us up early every morning and continued until late at night. Didn't make for a very restful vacation.
-for such a secluded location where it's difficult to go out to eat, the kitchen facilities were definitely not good enough. Fridge was tiny (barely fit enough groceries for one meal and a few snacks), small electric hot plate didn't work with the pan we brought, and only 2 of each dish and piece of silverware were provided, so we were constantly hand washing dishes because there was no dishwasher. We ended up eating  out for almost every meal, which was annoying with how tricky the drive into town is.
-we got lost finding the place, and it's very difficult to get to--definitely don't come without an SUV!! Road is in terrible shape with tons of potholes. And the directions we were given were terrible.
-we ran out of toilet paper (only 1.5 rolls provided for 2 people for 4 days.) and didn't get a response to our request for more for 8 hours, although Heidi responded pretty quickly to our request for a frying pan (within a couple hours).
-virtually no storage space in room. Nowhere to hang or fold clothes and very few surfaces to set things down on. It was difficult to get organized and we ended up just living out of our suitcases for four days because there was nowhere to put our clothes.
-not very private. People walked by our door a lot.
-"king bed" was actually two twin beds pushed together. Not very romantic or comfortable for a couple.
-even though there were no pets in our room, my wife's allergies were quite bad the whole time we were here. She is allergic to cats and the owners have cats so I guess they let the cats in the room between guests and then don't clean it very well, because there was obviously cat hair or dander in the room.
-the sign on our wall said the room would be cleaned every two days but we were here for four days and it wasn't cleaned once.

Overall it was a lovely getaway, but for what we paid we expected more. We'd likely try a different place next time to see if there's somewhere better around here.
