Big surprise, I was expecting this to be a run down motel but it is great.  REally nice room which was very big.  Lots of storage and room to move around. Comfortable bed.  The bathroom is split in 2 parts - sink and closet in 1 part, tub & toilet in the other which seems to be common in Nfld and Labrador.   
If you crane your neck you could see the harbour and an iceberg floating in it.  Good food.


Staff is fantastic!  I deal with them alot for work and they really go above and beyond!

It's a regular hotel but the staff make you feel very welcome and to me, that's the difference.

Very easy check in and out,friendly staff, clean room, only complaint would be no clock and the plug for my phone was on the other side of the room away from the night table, internet was terrible but 

The bed was comfortable , staff were friendly .Great location not too long a drive to catch the Ferry across to St Barbe . We ate at the restaurant there and it was a delicious Meal . What else can I say ,not much as we only spent one night there,checked in around 5 pm. , in the afternoon and checked out around 6 A.M., in the morning to catch Ferry . Everything was clean and neat ,very quiet ..

Only had one night in Labrador [to tour as far as Red Bay]. The Inn was likely the best in the area. It was a bit different but fine. Toiletries and coffee/tea services were like any prior hotel in the province. Its restaurant had a varied selection with good seafood though another chap was just so so about his mussels. None of the four possible wifi connections worked, a bit disappointing. A lobby computer was connected so could get an email home. The tile on part of the room floor was unusual, compounding the fact the hotel had a cool temperature. The phone showed a message but it was a short in the system. Got a bit of exercise out of it. The hallways have little cushion, walking being a loud experience if you do not purposefully tread lightly. Staff were pleasant. The place overall did the job.

As part of a tour we stayed one night at this motel--the best in a sparsely populated area.  The rooms are clean and large and the beds comfortable with all the amenities you would need.  The one drawback is the weak and unreliable WIFI.  The motel has a restaurant and bar and we found the food good--both dinner and breakfast.

The Northern Light Inn is located right on the main highway, just a few minutes from the ferry terminal.  We requested a room for disabilities, and were given a very large room with a fridge and microwave.  Bathroom was large as well.  The room looked out on the ocean.  Internet wasn't very good, although they are working on making improvements.  It's not a luxurious hotel, but has everything you need.  There is an attached restaurant and gift shop.  A lot of bus tours stay here, so it's usually pretty full.  It's a good place to stay if you want easy access to the highway and the ferry.

The hotel is a pretty large hotel.  Rooms are nice and large. This is one of the largest hotels in the area.  Room is clean and decently furnished.  Bed was comfortable. There is no elevator so if you are on the second floor, you have to cart your luggage up the stairs and possibly down a long hall.  The lobby has a nice gift shop and a restaurant.  Breakfast is not included with your room charge and is buffet only from 7 to 9am.  Food is quite good at dinner.  You can get Greco pizza as well.  Hotel is a bit worn in places but quite acceptable.

We had had some small rooms on our tour of Newfoundland and Labrador, so this was a welcome change. The country-style furniture might not look modern, but it was cozy and tasteful. Everything was spotless. We liked the tile and carpet combination on the floor for comfort and cleanliness. Again, the sink area was separate from the rest of the bathroom, and we find that a litle unusual, but it would be very handy with kids.

Our room down a verrrry long hallway included a mini-fridge, microwave, two lounging chairs, two desks and comfortable beds. The wine glasses were a nice touch. There was also an ice machine in the hotel. The hotel itself was quiet except for the noisy water pipes. We found it hard to fine tune the heat and fan settings - there must have been a trick to it. The Wi-fi service was pretty sketchy, which seemed a common problem for the area. We reallly liked the open closet and the full width vanity.

Breakfast choices included the Newfie Breakfast or the partridgeberry pancakes with sausage. Our tour included supper which consisted of seafood linguini - to die for.

A Nice, Homey Welcome to Labrador

We were there in June. The room (king-size and on the 2nd floor without an elevator) was large and roomy.  There were two issues with it. 
1. The heat (which is needed in Labrador even in June) when turned on was very noisy and could not be used.  They brought us a portable heater instead, which worked well.
2. Underneath our window behind the building there was a generator which created fumes. We were not originally aware of this and had kept the window open to get fresh air.
