À La Chouette

We stayed at A La Chouette for 3 nights at the end of July and can sum up the experience in two words: simply perfect. Ginette and Francois are extremely gracious and thoughtful hosts, and did everything they could to make us feel welcome and at home. A La Chouette is 10 minutes walk to anything you would like to do in Baie-Saint-Paul, be it a walk on the beach or the public gardens, or to the main foodie and art district. However, if quiet is your thing, you can easily escape to any one of the spaces they have created in the beautifully landscaped back yard. Our room was on the top floor and although smaller than some, it was a perfect size for my wife and I. Tastefully decorated, a private bathroom and shower, and a comfy bed, it had everything we needed to be comfortable and well rested for the next day. And to start the day was their scrumptious multi course breakfasts, guaranteed to satisfy the most discerning foodie. Poached pears in spices, fresh local breads, cheeses, and meats, fresh fruit salads, homemade jams, cinnamon raisin bread french toast…I could go on and on. Just perfect. We definitely will be returning the next time we plan to be in the area and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone to do same. Thank you Ginette and Francois.
