This place is under new management since 2019 so you can disregard the reviews prior to that.  This little Inn is the real deal.  Quaint, clean, comfortable, and best of all affordable.  It is like staying at a hotel but with the warmth of a BnB.  The owner is very friendly and accommodating and I will also add a great cook!  Breakfast menu is great, and the food is even better.  Rooms are renovated and they are even offering a little something unique with “Theme Rooms” be sure to check out their website for details.  Location is great for a golf weekend.  Would and do plan on staying again in the future.  

Recently renovated rooms. Friendly, clean,quiet and very comfortable. Motel also has a coffee shop with a nice reasonably priced breakfast menu - we had a great tasting breakfast to complete our stay. Overall a very pleasant stay and well priced.

We stayed in this hotel while attending the HRC Challenge.   It was convenient and reasonably priced.   We had a first floor room.   The room was clean, quiet roomy, quiet, and equipped with microwave, coffee maker, and fridge.   I would recommend it if you are attending an event in the area.

Cute little Inn with lots to offer

Clean, friendly, comfortable. A wonderful motel stay without the big city price.

Nice roadside motel.

This is an older motel in a small town.  I was here five years ago and thought it was on its last legs but new owners have spruced things up a fair bit since then.  Room was very clean.  Furnishings and carpet dated and a bit worn but not to the point where I was put off. Small but new television, fridge with freezing compartment, coffee maker and microwave were in the room although I didn't use any of them. Bed was comfortable.  Reception was acceptable.  Room was to be ready at 3:00 and although I hadn't arrived yet, a phone call had gone to my home number to let me know it wouldn't be ready until 4:00.  I wasn't affected one way or the other but appreciated the effort. At $90 plus taxes I felt I was well served. Wifi was good although management warned me it can be slow if there were a lot of people on at the same time.  I booked a couple of weeks ahead - it was fully occupied when I got there so it looks like they do a good business.

Budget Accommodation

I think the only reason this hotel can get away with charging 90 bucks a night is because it has no competition.  We arrived in late at night... way too tired to drive the extra 36 minutes to get to Lacombe where we would have more selection.  Whole place is in need of repairs, updates, and a major thorough cleaning.  Dozens of flies in the room, rusty tub and sink, dirtiness everywhere.  The following night we checked into a hotel in Lacombe for a cheaper price and it was no comparison.  It was clean, updated, and it came with a wonderful continental breakfast.  Shame on the owners of Alix Motel that take advantage of travellers.  Clean up the place and have some pride.

over priced for what you get

Checked in and they didn't have my reservation recorded.  Smelled profusely of marijuana in front office.  My bed had dog hair.  Dirty tub, and the lady was confrontational from the get go.  Said she could have cleaned the dog hair off with a lint roller if I spoke up.  Not offering me a new room or a refund.  She would not accept responsibility for anything, instead blaming me for my attitude.  I had to pay for a pre authorized payment in case, as she said I stole the television.  She even argued and raised her voice at me as I was walking out of the office.   Don't stay here go somewhere else in Alix.  This was the worst part of my visit.  I wouldn't let that tarnish my visit at my  best friends place.  The photos posted on their website were staged.  I will definitely be spreading the word about this dump.

Terrible customer service

I stayed at this motel in Alix for a friend's wedding.  My advise-bring a trailer.  Room 113 was musty, carpets and chair in roomwere filthy, and I do believe the bar of soap in the sink had been put back in the wrapper.  Towels were worn, well worn.  Bed sheet had a hole, and was stained.  Front reception area reared of cigarette smoke, wifi? What wifi!  Oh, and the trains blowing horns - all night long.  My advise - stay elsewhere!
