Stone Boutique Hotel

My boyfriend and I stayed here in March 2014 for a few days while on a long holiday. The bungalows are basic but very clean and spacious with a warm shower and our one also had a bath, TV in the room but no coffee making facilities. The rooms were cleaned on request when you place a cleaning notice on the front of the door. I have nothing negative to say about the rooms, we were on a short holiday not travelling we only needed something clean and basic as we didn't spend that long in the room and it suited our needs perfectly. The owners of the Guesthouse were the real highlight, they were extremely helpful in anyway possible. They prepared a free breakfast for us one day, arranged Tuk Tuks for us and when we asked about the night bus to Siem Reap he said he would book it for us, but when he couldn't get through on the phone actually went to the office on our behalf to book it. The owners were very friendly and their English was very good but not fluent. They tend to lock the gates at night so if you come back late you end up waking them up to get into the complex. However, in our experience this is a normal thing in Cambodia. Cambodians tend to go to bed quite early as well so even though we were getting back between 10-12pm they would be fast asleep. The only downside to the Guesthouse was the location. the closest beach was Sokha, which is privately owned by Sokha Beach Resort you need to pay to use a sun lounger and it is beautiful but very quiet beach with food places 5 min walk away. It is walkable to Sokha Beach but it is a long long walk. You need to get Tuk Tuks or hire Motos to Otres or other beaches which in a Tuk Tuk was around $12-$15 dollars to get there and back. The owners have Motos you can rent from them and they will organise Tuk Tuks for you. We ended up going to Otres Beach most days and it did work out quite expensive especially when we then needed a further Tuk Tuk in the evening to Serendipity Beach for food. Again it is walkable but it is a very long walk. The Bungalows are at the end of a quiet road and it does get very dark at night but we had no concerns of safety, but you obviously need to be careful.
