We spent 5 nights at the Butterfly Pea Hotel last week. The hotel is in a peaceful location near the river and it’s a 10 minute walk to get to the busier part of town. It’s also very close to the wonderful Marum restaurant where we ate dinner a couple of times. The room was nice, clean and cool after a hot day of visiting Angkor Wat or Tonle Sap. The highlight of our stay were the staff of the hotel, who were so helpful in organising excellent drivers for us for a temple visit and for our stay in Battembang. The staff were a delight to chat to - we learned so much about life in Cambodia from them. Breakfast is delicious, with both Cambodian and western options, including avo toast. It’s good to know that a stay at this hotel helps to support local communities such as Prek Toal village.
