Stumbled upon this perfect post covid lie gem. Perfect location in the Wat Damnak area which, along with Wat Bo are the optimum areas within the center of SR. Pretty difficult to beat $15 for bright white clean room, which nobody stays in much anyway whilst in SR. Less than 5 minute nice walk to the mayhem of Pub Street and the 3 night markets all selling the same Chinese or Thailand crap. Better to explore the interesting areas of both previously mentioned Wats. Wat means temple and the culture was based around them back in the day. If you seek a little more authentic Khmer experience then avoid the Pub Street craziness and hunt out fun in the suburbs. Recently, Wat Bo was voted 3rd best neighbourhood in the world I think by a reputable hospitality publication? We came for business from beautiful sleepy Battambang where we live but will return for pleasure and happily stay at Day Sunrise Boutique Hotel upon returning. Room #204 seemed best.
