Envoy Hostel Phnom Penh

Just a short stay here before going to explore temples in Siemreap.Nice hostel to stay and a lot of cheap restaurants nearby.  Room is clean with comfortable bed.  Staff is kind and helpful. However, the location is a bit far from night activities.

I stayed there twice during my travel in Cambodia. My first night in Phnom Penh and my last. 

The hostel is very basic and clean. It is a very quiet and SAFE hostel  (door is locked after 7pm, so remember your key), wouldn’t say it has a social vibe, but I managed to meet people in my dorm to hang out with. The hostels is for all ages, there were both families and elder travelers and young backpackers.

The staff was very nice, only picked up Phea’s name but they were all very easy to talk to. 

The hostel has great location to great food options (Eleven one kitchen one street behind). Would definitely recommend for your last night before you’re flight. 

Me and my partner arrived at 1.00am and we were away by 10.45am the next morning. But those 9. 45 hours spent in the Envoy were great.

There was a late night desk so we could get in at 1.00am (and grab a beer as well). They sorted transport for us for our 10.45 departure. The staff were lovely, bed was comfortable, whole place was very clean, breakfast was nice and the kitchen setup seemed clever by design (half attended and half serve yourself).

From earlier experiences of traveling this would be a nice place to start in Phnom Penh to meet like-minded people. Or obviously to stay in the city and see what it has to offer.

Although, it was my third time staying here, I can say with confidence that it's been a wonderful experience every time I have had the privilige to visit Envoy. The food is exquisite, the place itself is superb, providing an interesting amalgamation of Cambodian and Western culture. It is always a pleasure visiting Envoy and I'm sure to stay here next time.

Envoy hostel is probably the finest hostel with the cheapest price. The staff were so friendly, they always greeted me with a big, wholesome smile during my stay. All rooms had AC and was extremely clean. I  indubitably recommend staying at Envoy hostel if you are visiting Phnom Penh.

-Comfortable room with plenty of space (I was in a female 6 bed dorm), large lockers to make organizing stuff easier
-Large bathroom with hot water, great pressure (which I didn't expect at all - so was pleasantly surprised)
-Everything was extremely clean
-Wifi worked very well

I see that also other people wrote very positive reviews on Envoy Hostel and Tours, and I can only confirm that this hostel deserves the praise bestowed on it. In August-September 2019, I stayed for two weeks in a spacious private room on the ground floor, so I didn't have personal experience with the dormitories. However,  I suppose that the friendly, well organized and English speaking staff maintain the same level of quality service on all floors for all visitors. As well the public spaces as the rooms are very clean. Guests can watch TV in the large lobby. Wifi is everywhere and there's a modern kitchen with a microwave and fridge at the disposal of the guests. Breakfast is included in the price. The hostel also has its own laundry, and even its own tuktuk. I rented one of the Envoy-bikes for two days (2 dollar a day) but stopped using it because the saddle was far too low and difficult to adjust. I was agreeably surprised to detect a big terrace on the first floor and a very big open space, with chairs and a table, on the rooftop. I didn't participate in the tours that Envoy Hostel is offering, but at times the hostel was teeming with guests participating in group tours. Envoy Hostel is located in a quarter where restaurants, supermarkets and all kinds of shops abound. Popular places like the Central Market and the Night Market, the entertainment Street 51, the Olympic Stadion and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum are at walking distance. It seems that besides the beds in the three private rooms, there are also 54 dormitory beds available.

The staff are really friendly, kind and helpfuly.  Plus, they have a kitchen you can use, water is free, the beds are comfortable, the common spaces (there are multiple!) allows for solo lounging or socializing, and the bathrooms (and everything, really) is clean.  While I was here I was tempted to just stay here, but if you want to see the city there is plenty near by as well.

Really well designed and decorated with a green and lush theme throughout, this hostel is an absolute pleasure - being afforded with a fabulous guest kitchen if you want to visit the local market (which is only 5 minutes away on foot). Additionally there are also two large supermarkets around the corner, both very good for packaged items although the market is still the better option budget wise. The kitchen has separate bins for sorting waste into recyclables and compost. Finally in a hostel in Cambodia !
  There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about this place, although personally I would have preferred the far more hygienic “bum guns” instead of loo roll. Everything is kept nice and separate.
  Security is great in a pleasant neighbourhood, without those girlie bars visited by racists and chauvinists. The hostel has a very explicit rule visible everywhere; no sex tourists and no victims either.

Thank you lovely staff at Envoy for making our stay so easy, welcoming and feeling like home. I was staying in the city whilst sorting my lost passport (not an ideal situation) and staying here made everything easier.

We stayed in dorms and then a private room, both were great. 

Such friendly staff from reception through cleaners to tuktuk drivers. The place was clean, cool, a good social area and a kitchen to use which was a bonus. Despite the expected Cambodian issues that will arise anywhere (power loss, smelly bathrooms, bugs) they do there best to combat and continue running a hospitable hostel with power back ups, fragrancers and will remove a sneaking bug.

A safe part of the city, cheap food nearby but also cafes.

Thank you, we would only stay here if we're  ever back

Overall a great stay for anyone looking for a cozy hostel with great staff members

Travelling with a large student group, the staff at the Envoy were very accommodating and helpful with any request. Rooms were simple and clean, perfect for our group with common areas on the roof and on the ground floor. We were able to use the extensive hostel kitchen to prepare breakfasts or could order breakfasts. These were cheap and generous. 
Well located near to supermarkets and a selection of good restaurants.

Lovely Khmer old style building with spacious rooms (the cheapest is smaller and doesn't have a window though). Plenty of space to chill. Common area, garden, balcony and roof top. Free water and large kitchen free to use. Friendly staff. Location is great, easy acces to BKK2/3 and Russian Market too. Best shower I have ever had in a hostel. If I need to find a downside, the matresses could be a bit thicker and the bikes a bit better. Ongoing construction in the neighbourhood is annoyig, but unavoidable in fast changing Phnom Penh. Visit this city before all lovely Cambodian authenticity is gone! :(

Feels like home

We stayed at this accommodation for one night in a 6 bed mixed dorm. 

The staff are very nice and friendly and very accommodating.
The room was clean and is not a bad size with an individual locker. The bed was comfy and there’s hanging space for towels etc. 
There isn’t a privacy curtain on the beds which I prefer. 
There’s one toilet and one shower which were both clean to use.

The hostel as a good communal area and kitchen both accessible and relaxing to sit in. We didn’t try the breakfast but there’s a small menu of options available.

The AC in the room was good with no restrictions and the WiFi works well everywhere.

Overall happy with our stay and would recommend on to people passing through.
