White Beach Bungalows

White beach Bungalow is the best!! At the quiet end of Koh Touch beach, but only ten minutes walk from the island main - but still little - town where all ferries land. WBB has the best and sweetest staff, the bungalows are right next to the beach- I loved every bit.

Cambodia is a developing country and has an almost unique culture. In Koh Rong you are on the edge of the jungle. Things will bite you, monkeys might pinch your knickers and departure times are flexible. Electricity and wifi are not always available. If this worries you Cambodia and Koh Rong are probably not for you. We booked direct with white beach and were contacted by David via WhatsApp. This was the start of a second to none service. At the last minute our flight was cancelled and we had to arrive 1 day early the adaptable David took it in his stride. He arranged pick up from Sihanoukville airport that took us to the port. The thoughtful David had also arranged our ferry with Buva Sea. When we arrived at the office they were expecting us and tickets/clear directions to the ferry were ready. This caring approach continued on arrival when a private service was there to meet us at the pier. Whilst on the island he was supportive in arranging the hire of a motorbike and a boat trip. Our room was on the beach and although in need of some renovation we were happy with it. The balcony was fantastic and spacious. The dedicated team clean the room if you ask the day before. The beach and grounds are cleaned every morning and throughout the day. The polished performance continues to the kitchen and restaurant/bar staff especially HU, his English is fantastic. The easygoing and supportive style means they are ready to chat or just get you another drink. Food and drink is well priced and this quiet end of the beach is close enough to be able to access everything without having to continuously endure the party noise. When we left our private service to the ferry and onward travel to Kampot was arranged and once again the trustworthy David delivered. The service I received from the team was unparalleled. Lerci x

The location is the best on the island, close to stores and restaurants, but yet not disrupted by any noise. The staff was very welcoming and nice, and their resturant was so peaceful with great options.

We had a lovely stay at White Beach Bungalows. The location is perfect and is just about the right amount of walking distance from the "town". The beach and water is pristine. Some minor issues with the Bungalows which is to be expected, in addition to plastics unfortunatelly being a problem in this region of the world.But other than that we had an amazing stay here. Will def come back

We stayed at White Beach for 1 month and a half during the covid crisis and had a great time. Ben was very responsive and helpful during the booking process and once we arrived on the Island. The bungalow we had (b14) was perfectly located as it faced the beach but also gave us privacy as it has a 20 step stairs leading to it. The rate we got per night was a real bargain and allowed us to stay long and enjoy the beautiful white sand beach in front of the hotel every day. The location was ideal for us as we could go to the Koh Toch village by walking only 10 min on the beach but also were away from its noise at night. The staff was very nice and provided good advice. The restaurant of the hotel was closed at that time but the nearby Tree House was a great option. Only annoying little things were that the wifi was not working most of the time (due to wifi company apparently) and there often was a bad smell in our bathroom.

We stayed during the COVID-19 pandemic which obviously affected our stay, the island was much quieter than usual which was good and bad (none of the parties were on and the beach was much emptier than usual). But all the staff were really helpful about the whole situation and were offering discounted rates. 

The location is perfect. A 5 minute walk from the main village (and 10 minutes from police beach) with all the restaurants and bars and a 10 minute walk in the other direction to 4k beach which is beautiful and more quiet. The resort can organise boat trips to the other beaches on the island. 

The best thing about the bungalow (although ours was a sea view with AC so was more of a treehouse) was the beach, which you have a great view of from the balcony! You could sit in the hammock or comfy chairs all day watching the sea. The beach is private and is the best on the Koh Toch bay with white sand and clean waters (although the resorts on the island needs to lead beach clean ups as even without many tourists there was lots of rubbish). Also watch out for the sand flies - invest in some DEET bug spray or coconut oil. 

The bungalows themselves are quite simple with only a bed, bedside table and some shelving but they were clean and comfortable and enough for a week long stay - although I can see why some people felt frustrated when paying $90+ a night. We never had a problem with bugs or brown water and found everything very satisfactory!

The island is quite expensive and is cash only so make sure you have enough as the cash our services charge 10%. 

Would definitely recommend staying at the White Beach Bungalows! Worth the extra money compared to other resorts on the island for sure. Thanks to all the staff as well, hopefully we’ll be back again!

Wonderful place, beginning of the location - the best on the island in my opinion.  Spacious and clean bungalow.  Great dinner, delicious and varied breakfasts.Nice and service-oriented staff and above all the manager Ben.  Thanks so much for a wonderful week.

Children playing around, good food, merry and helpful staff and a good atmosphere made this a nice couple of days. We stayed in a bungalow high among the trees, and the view was amazing. The place is on the far end of the beach and makes for a chill place to hang without ever being too far from the centre and all the parties. Only downside is that there is quite a bit of noise coming from nearby bars, and the walls are of course pretty thin. Overall happy with it, and would come back. Had no AC, only fan, was a bit hot. Staff helped with tickets back to mainland :)

I like our room view, we could see the ocean even in our bed. Personel are kind and friendly. You defenitely make sure having fly repellent

We have just spent a week relaxing at White Beach Bungalows and had a fantastic time. It is clean, at the best end of the beach, the prices are very reasonable and the staff are very accommodating. We didn’t want to leave due to the good food and super chilled vibe where nothing is a prob, also an easy walk to the town. Our one bit of advice is if you can just transit through Sihanouk it’s a good idea. It’s dirty and destroyed my massive development in the last 2 years.

I've stayed here before.  The location is PERFECT.  The rooms are OK and it was nice to see they had added a coffee pot to the rooms.  Stayed in #10.  It could use a curtain on the bathroom window and curtains on the small windows to either side of the main door.  Someone walking up to the porche could just look right in. It could also use a way to lock the door from the inside.  The lower latches don't "latch".  It has been that way since I stayed there before around a year ago.  Lastly, I'd recommend a good thrashing for the monkeys that raided every day...hahah.  Expecially the big one that stole my brownies before I could scare him off. Seriously though, they like this place (#10) so if you want to see monkeys up close and personal.. hahaha... it's your best bet!

We've had the most wonderful time at white beach bungalows in Koh Rong. It's a pity that we had already booked our stay at Koh Rong Sanloem, otherwise we would have stayed longer.

The host is very helpful. Very reactive when you ask a question online but also on the spot from early in the morning till 4PM 
He helps you to get you a driver to help you with your luggage to go back to the pier.

The food and drinks are very good.
For those who are wondering; no sand fleas here only mosquitos but the mosquito nets are already prepared above the bed so you can sleep in peace.

The view from our room and our front porch was so calming. Especially from our hammock slowly rocking on the sound of the waves.
We loved it!

Laid-back atmosphere

Beautiful resort at the end of the village. It’s  a lovely walk from the ferry pier as you walk through the village and then after the road ends, you walk in the sand. The resort provides a courtesy pick up of luggage via bike (see the video on the creative way they did this for us!).

The resosrt had rustic charm, the electricity is shut off twice a day for a couple of hours, If I recall: 11:30-13:30 and 16:30-18:00).

Make sure you put on your mosquito repellant as they feasted on me!

Mauticcio (Resport Manager)  was fantastic, very friendly and helpful with advice.This applied to all of his team as well.

Switch off your troubles and spend time here - it was brilliant.

I had a beautiful stay here.  There are a few things to keep in mind though.  They only accept cash.  I was staying several days so that was a big chunk of my spending money.  BTW, If you want to get cash on the island you'll pay 8 percent to do so.  This cut into my spending money a little but luckily I had a workaround with my Cambodian friend that may not be an option for you.  There is no restaurant on the property (under renovation).  There is no refrigerator in the room or coffee post for boiling water.  No laundry on site (but the maintenance fellow may take care of it for you). All of that being said, I enjoyed my stay here immensely!  Just make sure you're prepared for a few inconveniences.

Great for couples and friends

Beach huts are very basic but the location is fantastic, close to koh touch and lots of barsRestaurants within 5-10 mins. Bathrooms are wet rooms and are very basic. Aircon and mosquito nets are a plus - as are the free sunbeds on the beach . For the price they are a good option but this could definitely be so much better with a bit more attention (tried twice to get drinks on the beach with no luck!) so went elsewhere. It was the start of the season but other places were so much more geared up!
