What a place. Beautiful tropical gardens and setting backing onto the national park. We saw a monkey at the back of our room. The room was large with a fridge and nice decor. Lovely balcony with outside sofa and chair and a hammock. Great value. Breakfast was included. The restaurant serves evening meals and lunch too with a mix of western and local options. Pool table and table tennis free to use. We Walked one way (2.5km to the beach) and tuk tuk back. A special mention to the kind staff for their help.

I spent a night here with my family and it was a lovely spot. The location is super convenient, not far from the crab market or the sailing club, and a nice quiet location backing on to the jungle.

The hotel itself features a series of charming bungalows and larger rooms that are perfect for families. 

The services were excellent - the pool is very nice and cool, the bar and restaurant areas are great to hang out in (including a pool table) and the staff were extremely helpful and charming. 

This hotel is extremely convenient, clean and nice.

We had a four night stay at Kep Lodge and had a wonderful experience.  We were checked in by friendly staff and were told we'd been given a free upgrade as the room we were due to be in had a fault with the A/C. So were shown to our spacious room with a big balcony.

The bed was big and comfy with effective, quiet A/C. In the bathroom we had a nice hot shower. On the balcony was a comfy couch and big hammock for looking out over the hotel's lush gardens and onto the ocean.
Some of the room finishes look a bit tired, but for the price of the rooms that was OK.

We had breakfast included, it was simple and tasty. Had a choice of eggs and then each option came with bread and jam, fresh fruit and tea/coffee.
We ended up having all our dinners there too, the restaurant is a great spot for watching the sunset. All meals were real tasty and well priced. I particularly enjoyed the grilled fish with lemon sauce - perfectly cooked fish and no bones!

I spent some time hanging out at the pool which was cool and clean.

We took advantage of moped hire arranged by the hotel. It was in decent condition and was handy for us getting around the local area.
Also arranged by the hotel was our onward bus ticket to Koh Kong, which was great value and really helpful as I'd been unable to book through any online agents.  The bus arrived exactly on time and all our transfers were coordinated perfectly.

We had an excellent stay at Kep Lodge, would stay again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Kep.

The manager was very helpful, she helped us arrange transportation to the cave temples, pepper farms, rabbit island and even to Sihanoukville for reasonable prices. The new lodge upstairs is very nice and breakfast was simple but good. The beds were a little too firm and one of our pillows smelled like mildew but it was pretty comfortable. Construction started a little too early at 7:15. Walking distance to the crab market was a big plus. 

I called this place home a while ago. I could never forget the little hut or lounge (whatever you want to call it) where you could have your breakfast overlooking the rising horizon or setting sun in the late evening. 

Staying in the middle of jungle is quite an experience for an urbanite like me. The sound of jungle can be pretty scary at night. At time you may have random bats or birds or other creatures creeping in the room if the window is open. This is small problem in exchange of the quiet and serenity. 

This area is rather obscure, meaning getting to the nearest town may be a huge problem if you don't drive or ride. But, you could always get the kind people from the reception to help you book a tuk tuk or taxi. Again, this is a minor issue. 

It's been awhile since I was there, i am not sure if things remain the same. But, I do hope the serenity and peace are kept for a long time to come.

Civilisation in the middle of jungle

The lodge is down a bumpy dusty road. The saltwater pool was nice but needs repairs to keep it safe. The breakfast was very basic. Our room was a lower unit and we could hear everything done and said upstairs. The mattress was hard, the sheet thin and the pillows needed another cover so we could lay our heads on them. The patio and hammock were nice but the furniture is worn out. The tv is there but doesn't work, so why not just remove it?

We went to Kep for a short holiday and booked for family room. Small disappointment waited us as we arrived. The room didn’t look like the one in the Agoda booking system. The staff was friendly and tried their best to explain why this was the case. Anyway the room we had was quite alright. 

TV did not work but that was not a big deal and we understood that there is no one fixing it as it was the time for the water festival.

The pool at the place was nice, although it should be maintained in near future as some of the tiles were detached from it and some of the underwater lights were just hanging by the cord leading to them.

Breakfast was average, good bread with eggs and bacon. For those who are used to eat a lot in the morning, the breakfast can be a bit too little.

The place has nice jungle atmosphere and the location is not too far from the crab market where you can find nice food.

Beautiful and relaxing place

If you have ever wondered what Cambodia would look like if all the NGOs pulled out and all the international aid donations dried up, then the current state of Kep Lodge might offer a few clues. Four years ago this was a fantastic place to stay with an idyllic pool, solid, clean cabins, good food and warm, friendly service. Nowadays the place is frankly a disgrace with dirty rooms, smelly bedding, crumbling infrastructure and feckless management. So, without the help of the international community would Cambodia transform itself into a new Asian tiger, go toe-to-toe with Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam for the tourist dollar? Or would it sit on its fat backside, pick its nose and watch the rain drip through the hole in the roof until the next mealtime? Take a visit to Kep Lodge and draw your own conclusions!

Back to nature

The place just needs a better maintenance. There were spiderweb all over and mouses running all night on the ceiling, there were cigarettes in the sink... I paid $40 per night so I was completely disappointed :(



Surprisingly disappointed

This place was considere one of the best place to stay in Kep, but since they change management is one of the worst... sad to see they or not up to what they were before. Not the place to stay anymore!
