Heng Heng Guesthouse II

We've been traveling in Asia for awhile so our standards have changed. We thought this place was ok for the price.
Good location, just around the corner from good eateries and the markets. 
Bathroom was okay, about a 5/10 on the clean scale. Could have used another sheet or something as bed cover was small for 2 people. Bed was comfy. Front desk staff cheerful.
There were lots of power failures,not their fault, but painful if you're in the shower at that time, no hot water....no water at all!
Good news is power failures didn't last long

Ok for the price

They sold me a ticket from Kratie to Don Det. He said it included the entire trip, but I was forced to pay to board a boat because my ticket DID NOT include the required boat fare. 

The bus did not even take me to Laos. Our driver asked for our passports at the border. He wanted to charge $45 (visa is only $30) to have them stamped on our behalf. We said no.

He told us if we didn't pay him to do it, he may not be on the other side of the border when we arrived. He said we had exactly thirty minutes and he would leave. This was at 4:30pm.

We go through immigration alone and exit around 4:45pm. We wait until 5:30pm. The bus driver never shows. He ditched us at the border because we wouldn't pay him an absorbent fee.

Shame on Heng Heng Guest House for putting travelers—especially those on a budget—through this.

DO NOT BOOK BUS TICKETS HERE

We had booked on line for 2 nights . When we arrived we paid and asked for a receipt. The receptionist didn't really want to give us one but eventually have in. The room we were given was on the front with a view over the Mekong which was it's only good point. We saw in a couple of other rooms and they appeared to have no windows.The furniture was very old and worn but we hadn't expected much for the price. The rubbish bin had the last occupants rubbish left in it and the bathroom was just about ok. When we came to leave they tried to get us to pay , checked in a book they had and told us that we hadn't paid. Luckily we produced our receipt , which they were far from happy about. No apologies just a grunt. We definitely wouldn't go back.

Only stay if absolutely necessary

We were walking from the bus station to the riverside when a tuk tuk guy offer us a free ride to Heng Heng (which was just close by) and saw on hostel list, the room cost us 15$.The receptionist was terrible, physically commented on us after we already paid. There was no toilet paper, i asked him for it but only received after he had long talk on the phone

The receptionist guy is terrible 

The guy from the reception will only give toiletpaper of help you if you give him kiss of have sex with him. He is terrible!!! Also the room is full of bugs and the power keeps falling out every 20min
