Bungalow on the Bay

Great location.  Clean and tidy and secure.  Aircon..I only pay $20 for frequent guest.  Super friendly staff and great food.  Great location on the beach.  I love afternoon beers here watching the sunset.  Just be aware the beach bars play loud music until 5 am.  If you want to go to bed early don't stay here

It is what you pay for.  But i love it

A bit overpriced at $25 but they let us stuff 4 people in it . We had a good night there, no troubles with noises or mosquitoes. Just some flies got in the room at the first place. The owner and staffs extend their welcome to us and is very helpful. They kept our luggages whilst we travelled to Koh Rong Samloem for 2 days and offered a room for free showers when we got back. That is not only good service but kindness. Close to the beach and pier. 


Decent room

Quite possibly the worst accommodation experience we have had so far on our travels! Unfortunately we arrived into Sihanoukville airport on Chinese New Year and didn't book a room... Big mistake - everywhere was fully booked. The lovely bus crew helped us to find a room and this was one the last available near the beach! We arrived into the complex and were the shown the room; we knew we'd have to take it, even in the poor condition it was in. 
To start with, it was right next to the front gate, down a dark side path which anyone could access and be unseen. It  had a strong smell of damp and sewers, which we later discovered were the blocked drains. There were dead Mosquitos all over the bed as if it hadn't been changed or even used in a long time, the room was very dark as the window looked out on to the wall of the side alley and didn't even shut properly which let Mosquitos in as well as the many holes dotted around the room in the walls. As we were desperate we had to accept this incredibly overpriced dive, at$25!!!! Wasn't even worth $10. We tried to bargain with the owner to reduce the price of the room by $5 after seeing the poor conditions but he was having none of it! As mentioned earlier, our next problem was that the sink would not drain, water used to wash our hands stayed in the sink with of course another dead mosquito in it! We reported this to the incredibly rude owner (who had terribly poor manners and people skills) who  shooed me away and came shortly after to 'fix the sink' with a saw and duck tape - instead the water just poured onto the floor.
The only real positive for this place was its beach front location, which we went out to, to get away from our horrific room. When we returned and showered, the bathroom floor immediately flooded due to a blocked floor drain - which was so terrible it must have been a reoccurring problem. Again, we reported this to the owner who once again seemed to ignore me and shooed me away! He then sent a young teenager with a 'metal rod' to poke the drain and unblock it, which barely made a difference and brought up hair and dirt which he left on the bathroom floor of course. Last but not least, whilst the location is good for the beach it is extremely noisy from the afternoon until around 5am, due to all the beachfront bars and clubs. Not what you want if you've come to relax, like we did! Great if you're  here to party, but it wasn't for us. We decided to sack it all in and book early morning transportation out of there!
If the owner hadn't been so rude, incompetent and had total disregard and lack of interest in our well being, it could've changed our perspective on the whole place. Unfortunately he really was just that rude, do not bother!!

If only we could rate no circles at all!

$25 for airconditioning and fan.  Decent room, nothing great.  On the beach (the only place on the beach, I believe) at the corner of the ferry pier,  so lots of foot traffic.

Forgot my tank top when I went to Koh Rong for two days.  Came back and asked about it?  No joy.

Club music BLASTING from the bar next door until almost dawn.

Need to be ON the beach?  This is your only choice.  Willing to walk  100-200 meters?  There are plenty of choices AND you'll able to sleep when you want to.
