5* service from the moment we arrived. The desk staff (French) knew the answers to all the questions we asked. The pool was excellent and the cleanest I saw in Cambodia. Furthermore, the bar was lively and friendly with super cheap drinks. Overall the stay was fantastic. 

There was no toilet paper during our stay however the squirty squirt makes an enjoyable change ;). The live in dog on the balcony was super useful in eating all my cigarette butts.

Koh rong but koh right

Visited here stayed for five days during Chinese new year.  Have stayed before.  Stayed for 20 dollars last year in may but charged us 30 dollars this time because peek period and that was at discounted rate. It is in good location in relation to piers and ferry. We had a bit of a tough walk up to our chalet but it was worth it for privacy and views. Chalet no. 12.  It is basic enough but that's what you expect at that price. Downside is that there is now a lot of construction going on and between that and roosters crowing from about 4 am in the morning and construction starting at around 7.30am it does not make for a peaceful rest in the morning. There is now a lot of rubbish lying around on path leading up the hill and the pier area has become quite dirty. The staff are nice and helpful. I would be in any hurry to stay around village in future for the koh Rong I knew of the past. I feel also going to price themselves out of the market. Pity

Another reviewer took the words right out of my mouth. If it weren't for the very low cost offered for a private room during low season after having been led here by a tourist (likely trying to score a free night there) and the fact that we bargained it down a couple of dollars, we wouldn't have bothered. Very basic on the essentials, the cold water on the island accomodation was a given and expected to us. What was maybe less forgiving was the many cracks and open creases in the room which only reinforced the noisiness of a few drunks at 3 AM and the presence of sand flies. The idea of installing a shower cap within a tiny block where a toilet sits, not to mention shower cap which sprays at all angles was also a nuisance. We checked out the next day.

You get what you pay for

We stayed here for 2 nights after spending a night at green bungalows, to be honest $10 a night you get what you pay for. The rooms are all open, the showers only run cold water (as with all showers on this island) the Island of ko rong is beautiful however there are no roads or paths so you will get sand everywhere. We had a mouse in a room, cockroaches and a hornet so don't be surprised by a visitor. As the rooms all lead on to one another with gaps in the tops of the walls if your neighbour has sex or closes a door or turns on a tap believe me you'll hear it ! 

Get what you pay for 

Had really friendly staff that showed us the room, and because we were well aware of the accommodation and the facilities the island offered we agreed to staying two nights. We were told that it was a lot quieter as it isn't right on the beach front- true, but we were woken up but locals yelling at the most ridiculous hours (4-5am both mornings), rats squeezing through the wooden holes in our walls, dogs barking, and being right next to the toilet didn't help, as we heard everyone get home from partying on the beach to shower and gossip over what had just happened. 
We didn't get our towels changed, or given any extra toilet paper (when we arrived there was only half a roll) in the 3 days 2 nights we stayed. 
Despite all these issues, the island doesn't offer incredible accommodation so it's best to just go hang on the beach (BEAUTIFUL!!). Staff are super friendly
