Panda Guesthouse

Big rooms, very comfortable bed, clean, hot showers, Wi-Fi quite good but sometimes doesn't work, good location, 10 min walking from the night markets, good laundry service. We really enjoyed our stay there :)

We travelled for two weeks in beautiful Cambodia. Looking back on all our stays, Panda House was definitely our favourite. Beautiful room, wonderful beds, big confortable bathroom. The lady of the house gave us very goods tips for visit and recommended us a good guide for Angkor Wat who picked us up at Panda Guesthouse to start at a less-known temple to see the sunrise, with just a few tourists. Panda Guesthouse great price-quality value and is situated in a very quiet area, a 10 min walk from the busy centre. Enjoy your stay in Cambodia!

Everything was great! The staff were so sweet and helpful, they are a real asset. One of the only places we've stayed at where they genuinely want to talk to you.
The room was so fresh, clean and bright. Comfortable beds and pillows which was a bonus, plus some English channels on the tv. 
Everything seemed very cleaned and well looked after, no problems with bugs and no issues with the maintenance in the room which in other places does get over looked. 
Other people moaned about the cockerel across the road. I only heard it once and it was very faint, I'm a light sleeper but didn't disturb me at all, and even if it did do not let it put you off it's not the hotels fault.
We wish we had more than 2 nights as it was so refreshing to have a hot shower and good nights sleep!!

Our nicest stay in Cambodia

Great find in Siem Reap

Very nice, good location

The owner was extremely rude when speaking to me. He demanded that we leave our room key behind whenever we leave the property, but could not give me a valid reason why this was necessary (some 'Cambodian fire policy' that he could not explain and that I encountered nowhere else in Cambodia) and 'assured' me that our belongings would be safe while we were out (bearing in mind I did not even know he was the owner during this conversation). I agree with other negative reviews I have read regarding his attitude, he takes any criticism about the property very personally, and I suspect any 'glowing' reviews are largely falsified. 
The room we took was large and clean, but the only fan was far too small for the room and we could not open the windows for ventilation because they had no mosquito covers. The door was stiff to lock/unlock, even the staff struggled to open it for us, and more of a fire hazard I suspect than not leaving our key at the front desk when we go out(!) The location is about twenty minutes walk to bar street, so bear that in mind, too.

The owner was vile

I booked room for 2 nights. On pictures advertising the room you can see the window and in description it was written that it has "city view". It was important for me, I newer book rooms with no windows, I just don't feel comfortable with them and also I prefer no air conditioning.
When we arrived (tired after 12h journey) we noticed that not only there was no view but also it has no window (also it was very, very hot inside the room). At first receptionist said that there are others rooms but he need to call the owner asking what to do, 10 minutes later he said there is no room available and we need to wait 40 minutes  for owner to come.
When owner (sounds and look like British) came, we talked for few moments, I explained that the room didn't resemble the description... he demanded to see an email with booking confirmation and after a while said he is annoyed with us and we can pay more for a better room if we want.
The worst was that the women accompanying the owner (his wife?) was aggressive and start to scream at us. It was too much, we took our backpacks and leave to find other place. Women run out to chase us screaming with fists in the air. The owner had to grab her and draw her back to the building by force telling her to calm down.

We spend five minutes in the room. Apart missing a window it could been a bit cleaner, we noticed few bugs and huge dragonfly flying around inside. To be fair, if it wasn't for missing window and owners behavior, we would stay.
