V-Homestay

This is a shining example of exactly what I am looking for in a homestay. Vanna and his family were extremely welcoming, friendly and fun to spend time with. We were regularly invited to meals with them to try authentic Khmer cuisine and on one evening, we ate with them at a local restaurant. We spent some time with a couple of his friends (language teachers) who were both warm and interesting individuals. It was fascinating to get an insight into Cambodian culture in a natural environment. Vanna went out of his way to ensure we had a memorable stay with regular transport, a visit to the 'locals' market, organising tours to Angkor Wat and sharing his favourite sunset spot (and great for birdwatching) in the nearby fields. He can organise tours to all the main sights in the area (with more details available on his Facebook page). We were pleased with the accommodation in a clean AC room and shared shower facilities had strong water pressure. As the property has four rooms, we enjoyed spending time with like minded people and shared transport to the temples, the sunset and local trips, which enhanced the experience. A really pleasant stay.
