Rio Family Hotel

Vanessa at reception is a lovely girl, and her boyfriend drove me all around town to replace my broken adaptor. I really appreciated that beyond the call of duty. Restaurant as part of the complex, again friendly people. Caught between two stools to some degree in Blagoevgrad. The centre of town's a quarter hour plod, not the most exciting, yet with a large student population, some really pleasant cafes dotted about, relaxing with greenery by the little river. But Rio's bang on for train & bus stations. Train from Sofia was relaxing. And the obvious day out by bus to beautiful Rila monkestry - apart from the murals of ladies adjudged to be sinners receiving pitchforks from devils. Why are devils having such wicked heavenly fun? Also easy to bus it over the winding road through the Predel Pass to Razlog/Bansko within a couple of hours. A bit dearer than normal for an average hotel in a normal Bulgarian town, but the ensuite room was, though a bit old school in decor, clean and comfortable, WiFi fine. And people there very nice.
