If you love nature and love to experience staying above a river this is the right place for you . You can spent a whole day here doing fishing, swimming, walking, jogging and enjoying the best scenery . To management please maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding . One of the best spot to visit in brunei . Staff could do better in welcoming the guest . Will definately come back

Check in at the chalet for 01 night with family (02 young kids). Staff were friendly. Basic amenities were provided. Decent size air conditioned chalet with King Size bed (though it's squeaked a lot). Good size bathroom. Restaurant served excellent food.

We decided to visit the resort for a late breakfast early lunch. Only one other table with two was occupied. Service was friendly and quite efficient. Food was simple but good. Prices are very reasonable 

But please, change the menu folders or at least clean them more regularly especially during this time of the corona virus. Menus were old , and sticky dirty. 

Simple but good

We were on our way to the Brunei Museum for the first time but since we were unfamiliar with the place, we missed the right stop and the bus went all the way uphill until it dropped us off to this resort. We walked less than 500 meters before we could get inside this place and its totally all green which is very cool. There are no sidewalks with shade on the way inside as people drive their cars in there. So it was a mistake that we walked under the scourging heat. The place was modern but has local design to it. When we walked around, the rooms were built under concrete stilts and its literally above water. We never checked in this place but we enjoyed the restaurant. We ate at this table where we had an open view of the river and the unfinished bridge from a distance.  

The food was reasonably good but a bit pricey if you don't know how to budget. We had a great lunch together and the staff were warm and friendly. We relaxed on the view for a bit before we had to walk all the way out to the main road again. 

I think the only thing they could improve on this place is their transportation / pick up to get inside, The road to get there is too hot as well and they could place some shade. Some tourists are not really with tour guides or included on a tour group. Some are just backpackers like us and it would be great if they include a pick up service etc. 

Thats all, I think its all good.

P.S. We saw monkeys dangling and playing on the trees at the bus stop outside this place. You may check that out too.

We just came here for the food and the view

This place has sooo much potential with some TLC. Had to change villas as the first had a kitchen cupboard infested with cockroaches. 

The hygiene here isn’t good, dirty greasy hand prints on the microwave, fridge and all of the glass doors and windows. Hair and crisps on the carpet. Bathroom smelt like poo. 

We had planned a two night stay, management have offered us a discount and reception staff tried her best to appease us by having another villa made available. This one smelt better but same shabby showers and damaged furniture. It just puts you off relaxing and so on. My husband more of his time try to sort us out with another hotel so not a very relaxing time for us living everything from one villa to another. 

I think the other 4/5 and 5/5 reviews are suspect.  Hygiene and decent standards in presentation are an issue here and are rarely mentioned. 

We won’t eat from here as now we all feel a little paranoid about what the kitchen will be like.

The swimming pool was lovely. Clean and well presented. No sun loungers only benches.

Disappointed 😔

Like a bad sequel movie. Despite our dreaded experience the last time, this place location is good. Fantastic river view, quiet and all natural surrounding. Sleeping with water sloshing underneath. Wake up with the cool breeze and sunrise reflecting the calm waters., fishing boats speeding by... as I said in Part 1, this place has all the makings of a great resort. But....

The Villas are well and beautifully built (why or why is the jaccuzi right in front of the living room sliding door?? And the thermostat is blown.. cold freezing jacuzzi?? At USD140 a night gets you 3 bedrooms with attached bathroom, kitchen, dining, living room and the veranda. Good for 6 adults... with kids.

The food is mediocre. The menu is pretty useless with many 'not available - eat what' s cooked' and a heart stopping bill.

The staff really do try to be nice. The supervisor and security are just annoying humans. I got stop 2x.. asked where I am from and where am I going... "er.. from and to our Villas.."

This place screams of adventure, water sports and eat with a fantastic view.. an envy to the likes of Empire Hotel even.

Sadly, its gradually morphed into mediocrity. Signs of poor guest relations and hospitality makes this a good case study of failing business. 

PART 2 

We went there to check the availability of an apartment; as soon as the guard see us he is asking for us to wear the mask rudely. When I say i will wear it from my car, he told me to stay outside the gate until the mask is worn. I know i have to wear the mask and i was going to wear it. The way he behave be was so rude and the other staff didn’t react on it. That made me made. Its not the way to treat people.

We stayed just one night. Yes, I agree that pick-up and drop-off services are bad. There was no one staff member to assist us in bringing our bags and luggage to the room. We have to find the trolley and push it to the room by ourselves. The floor in our villa was also dirty. There was a lot of dust, and it made the soles of our feet black and dirty, like the floor had never been mopped. The plates and cups are yellowish. We had to buy a new plastic cup for us because the ones in the kitchen were disgusting. There was also a stain on the bed sheet, and lastly, the jacuzzi water was not clean at all and gross. The breakfast was okay. Some foods are tasteless and bland. Overall, they need to improve more on customer service and maintenance.

Really bad experience

Stayed at one of the villas. There was no staff to assist us to bring our luggages to the room, had look for the trolley and bring the luggages to the room ourselves.  Rooms were not clean and everything was not well-maintained. There was dust everywhere and the bed sheets had stains on them. The jacuzzi works but looks like it's falling apart and can't adjust the temperature of the water. The receptionist was rude and obviously does not care for customer service because of the way she talked to the guests. Had to request for fresh towels (which were not provided in the rooms during check-in) only to receive them at night (they said the towels were still in the laundry). Breakfast was also not good, most of what we ate tasted bland and cheap.

As a hotel with such a good location and  provides such a beautiful view of the country's jungle and river, it has so much potential. However, the experience was ruined by the customer service, lack of cleanliness and lack of maintenance.

Bad experience

Resort Location and its view is good and relaxing but the room is in poor condition (stay at the chalet) and the toilet is cramped. The toilet seat is not stable, the shower tap is broken, toilet window looks haven’t been clean in ages. The mattress is too hard, feel like you sleeping on concrete and only a pair of pillow is provided. The wallpapers inside the room are a bit tore. Many ants inside the room. The breakfast was just normal and not many choices. Definitely not coming back here. Very dissapointed with the room, not worth for the price. Please improve.
