We sailed up to Anegada during our week’s bareboat charter within the BVI. The trip is well worth the effort and the island gives a unique and authentic dimension to the BVI, and a challenging approach to the anchorage. 
For our overnight stay, we ate, bare feet in the sand, at the Anegada Reef Hotel. 

Service and food were both excellent, especially the lobster penne and the bbq’d whole trigger fish. 

Most vessels coming here seek the same tranquility and space, save for one or two loud ‘party boats’. Anchoring just to the north of the mooring field gave the peace, tranquility and overnight safety we sought. 

In all, a fantastic experience!

Had a great time frequenting the lovely outdoor bar/restaurant right on the beach. Wonderful atmosphere and breathtaking views. The lobster and ribs were amazing, as was the service. Can't say enough good things about this wonderful (and convenient) place!

The place to be

Had the absolute works lobster. Tasted like mash potatoes, extremely mushy and too much butter. There was no texture.

Red Lobster back in the US can do a better job!

Wait staff is very rude and asks as if you are bothering them.

Best place to stay on Anegada. The views from the room are absolutely beautiful. The staff are wonderful and accommodating. The breakfast we had every morning was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend the lobster dinner! This is our second time staying here and we will be back for future stays!

Best Place to stay on Anegada

Had dinner here.  Very cozy and comfortable with good service.  Food was well prepared but basic - lobster grilled with steamed vegetables and rice.  
Much quieter than the neighbor place - Potters- which sounded like a fraternity bar.
Nothing fancy but good quality and atmosphere.  You need to order your lobsters ahead of time so get there before 4pm.

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Anegada - our first time back since March 2020.  My sister, her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter were also there and we all stayed at the Anegada Reef Hotel.  It was like a dream.  The owners, Vivian, Lawrence and Lorraine Wheatley, and staff are like family to us.  We’ve been going there for almost 20 years and alway stayed with them and it’s always been absolutely amazing.  Vivian Wheatley, the owner and “matriarch” is - and I know this sounds like an exaggeration but it’s not - the most wonderful human on the planet.  She is 100% concerned about our comfort and well being at all times plus she loves Anegada and has a very scientific mind.  You can sit and talk to her and find out so much about this fascinating island which is completely different from the other islands in the BVIs.  She can also give you the background of the families that have been there for generations and keep you up to date on the goings-on and whatever new business projects that are being planned or in the process of being carried out.  It’s not an easy island to live on and I really admire and respect the people who live there - all 289 of them I believe.  We have most of our breakfasts and dinners at the hotel.  There are quite a few choices for dining on the island these days but we still prefer eating at the hotel - not only because you literally sit with your toes in the sand when you dine but the food is excellent with their beach front barbecue and the meals are very healthy and incorporate salads, cooked vegetables, both meat, fish (fresh and yummy) and vegetarian options and a really nice wine list (which incorporates my favorite champagne Veuve Clicquot.  The hotel can make all sorts of arrangements if you want to do something, be it visiting one of the nearby islands, going on a guided snorkeling trip, fishing around the island etc. and often, if there are no other choices available to to arrange an activity or excursion on a certain day Vivian has made special arrangements with someone she knows who might be able to accommodate your wish.  The Wheatleys and their staff will go out of their way to make their guests happy.  We absolutely love the Anegada Reef Hotel and we will be back next year.  Oh, and the rooms are perfect with a very Caribbean vibe and simplicity (and they’re air conditioned) and beds very comfortable.  Plus I love the shower in the deluxe ocean front rooms.  I always want our shower at home to be re-done just like theirs when we’ve been there

Family Reunion in Anegada

My wife and I have stayed at the Anegada Reef Hotel 6 different trips over the past few years. I found it by boat many years ago. Now we stay on the Island and skip the boat. The staff are great. Food is great, and drinks are great. Best sea side dining ever.

We moored at Anegada and spend the afternoon here. Outside bar has Ernie who was a great bartender and very helpful. In the boutique the woman there helped us with taxis and which beach to go to. We liked it so much, we stayed at Anegada for another night.

For a second time, we reserved 5 Mokes from LandH through Anegada Reef Hotel -- what a BLAST!  When we arrived -- only 4 Mokes were available, however LandH had arranged for a 5th from a place a block away.  Such a fun way to explore Anegada -- from one end, to the other -- always winding up at Cow Wreck Beach at the Cow Wreck Beach Bar AND the very new Tipsy by Ann (a gem of a place).  This charter trip wouldn't be the same without a day of Mokes!

The MOKES!

The hotel is conveniently situated near the ferry dock. It has a good restaurant specialising in the local lobsters and good bar.It is right on top of a nice beach and loungers are available.The staff are friendly and efficient.All in all a great place for a few nights stay.
