The hotel is really good if you compare price and nearby hotels. The room was really clean, the bed was comf, location is really good, reception, everything was really good. 
The only reason to not give 5 stars is the shower wasn't that good and the breakfast should change to give more options. I stayed 5 days and we got the same breakfast 5 times.

Summarising, I recommend!

In a poor area that sometimes can be dangerous, this hotel it is for people that really don't want to pay too much and don't mind simple (really simple) places. The towels are terrible and look like 20 years old,  the shower is not divided with the toilet (so you wet everything when you shower) the pillow and bed are very old. Breakfast it is not buffet stile, so you receive only one bread, 4 biscuits, one glass of juice and there is only coffee and milk (if you don't drink coffee you only have pure milk). Very noise area and people from the hotel tend to yell in the corridors while you are sleeping. Only two blocks walking from metro's Republica Station.

Cheap but dirty

While the neighborhood is ugly, the hotel is great for getting to rest and taking a shower. Breakfast included and it's pretty good for the price. The place is known as cracolandia, but it's not terrible. The people are very kind and respectful.

Well, nice and cheap.

We booked twin beds online and on arrival there was no one available. We were given a temporary room and the next day we were changed. At the room change I was robbed of a suitcase, the second day I was robbed of a purse and on the last day I was robbed of the dress I had hanging in the closet, ready to travel.

Attention, they steal your belongings, every day.

The location is complicated, the area is very crowded at night, it is very difficult to get back at night, it's only by taxi, it's very noisy at night because there are bars with people on the street, and many homeless people roam the area.

Ubicacion is the location.

Don't expect too much from this hotel, it's a very simple hotel but very well located, close to the center, the metro station, transport to the airport, for a short stay it's better than if you're not very pretentious.

Good location at a very good price.

ignore all bad reviews. This is low budget hotel, therefore yo can't expect miracles here. For the price, it's a very good deal. You are in center of town, close to metro. The rooms are small, but clean. Breakfast is poor, but again, you pay way below market price to be in center of the city. So if you "saver" and don't mind there is no doorman opens door for you, this is perfect place to sleep in Sao Paulo

perfect value hotel

Damaged neighborhoods, motel rooms, poor cleanliness, no elevator, and in the morning, you could hear all the doors open and the night they arrived, they gave us the keys to a room that was already occupied.

Never again

I read from previous reviews the hotel was located on a somewhat shady street but I didn't know until afterwards that it was actually in the heart of Sao Paulo's "Cracolândia".   That being said, we never ran into any trouble during our 4 nights stay but we made sure we walked fast and didn't stay out late.

Pros:
- decent wifi
- 2 metro stations close by:  Luz and Republica
- walking distance to Old Downtown (Se Square)
- walking distance to the Free Walking Tour meeting point
- good free breakfast (although plated and not buffet style)
- clean rooms, beds, and linen
- cheap price

Cons:
- location is a bit shady.   The street is very crowded even in the afternoon, i'm not sure why.
- Reception speaks very little English.   Just enough to check us in, but not able to give any information.

I would recommend only if you're travelling in groups of 2 or more and need to find the cheapest place possible.    I don't think it's suitable for girls travelling solo.
