My wife and I stayed at the Intervale Othon Hotel for five days while visiting family. We booked the property because we wanted a comfortable and clean room to come back to at the end of the day. 

The day we arrived we were greeted by name at the front desk and showed up to our room. 
The room was spotless and well maintained. Internet is very important to us both to keep track of work back home and we found it very fast without any interruptions throughout our stay.

The room was equipped with a great little mini bar fridge and a generous selection of snacks and beverages to choose from.
 
Each morning a continental breakfast is served in the dining area adjacent to the hotel lobby. Included is a selection is delicious cold cut meats, yogurts and some of the freshest fruit I've had. My wife particularly loved the cake, as known as 'bolo' in Brazil!

The hotel is well located, in close proxity to the many great cafes, bars and restaurants that the city of Sao Jose has to offer. The is also a couple shopping centers very close...a few minutes by car.

What really did it for us was the great team at the hotel. Everyone was super friendly from checkin to checkout. The front desk team will even valet park your vehicle for no additional charge. 

While this property may not be as new as some other options, what makes the difference is when you know that staff are fully invested in giving you the best experience.

A fantastic option in Sao Jose !!

The hotel is very good, considering its cost. The room is small/freshly renovated, in the room mostly only stayed overnight, the rest of the time spent on the beach or walking around the city. The hotel is very conveniently located. 5-10 minutes to the beach and near the metro station. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

The country is an interesting, convenient location of the hotel

I stayed at this hotel for several times. It is clean, organized.good breakfast, walking distance to a mall, however the internet is really unstable if you need to work after hours run... Also the gym have only one trade mill so what in line.

You Get what you pay. Internet Horribly slow

I came for a work commitment and checked in in in the morning and breakfast was not included, staying for a week at it and paying a prestigious local company. I stayed at the promenade and in a lighthouse hotel that is nearby and the attention was first and not mediocre like here. If you hear all the noise of the rooms and the hallway, the beds are the worst, if you don't modernize it and you have to see details of an old hotel!

Bad service and don't care about the guests

Terrible hotel, I lived 3 years ago in Sao Jose dos Campos and had to live for almost a year in hotels in the city.The first thing I found was this hotel that the only rescue was the breakfast buffet.The small rooms, hard beds, walls that left me listening to 2 or 3 quarters away.

Don't waste your money.

The hotel is very clean. The supermarket and the shopping-mall are in walking area. On the roof is a swimming pool and a small fitness room with view over the city.

There is no carpet in the floors or in the rooms which is very clean. But it is very loud. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours talking and you can understand every word... Everyone is jamming the doors no matter what time it is.

The restaurant has no cosy atmosphere but the food is ok. As well is the breakfast.

The service team is friendly but most of them don't speak English.

Clean but noisy

I stayed at this hotel for a dozen days in February 2005. This property is central and very close to the shopping center. It has a business center and meeting room, fitness center and swimming pool on the roof. The double room was spacious, very clean, equipped with all the comforts required, the fridge bar was always full. The service staff was really courteous and available, always ready to help you. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant many times and the food was delicious. I also ordered dishes outside the menu and they always arrived promptly. I was satisfied, also because we paid a ridiculous amount compared to the services we used.
