1223 reviewsI don't like to give less stars for things that can be corrected, moulded , redone, reimagined ..... for all that is not right here @ the Pestana, there is much that is great ... Pestaña convento is one the most beautiful historical sites one can stay in... true magic for what it is ... where it is .... Hundreds of years of history.... of mystery...beauty on every step ...each corner seeped in stories of days gone by...what more can one ask for? The sea breeze from Bay of all Saints, the lovely lonely mango tree in the outer sanctum ,the deep green pond in the inner sanctum...a meter thick walls, verandas with lazy chairs ....they invite one to relax..just close the eyes and imagine the centuries floating away ....the cobbled street in front must have witnessed moments of religious persecution, of heart breaking slave trade and the grand hour of dictatorship...while those moments are all gone, the street and Pestana have withstood the test of time .. to tell us all of what they have seen...they have morphed into 'time'...they are the time ! just close ur eyes and contemplate ..... P.s. the food and service are non spectacular ...but then who cares ...it's the environs that matter !
