We booked 10 nights at guest house Djalma in Copacobana beach in Rio for Christmas and New Year's Eve. We used booking.com and received an email back after booking saying the prices were incorrect and had not been updated for the holiday period. We negotiated a higher price with the guest house as it is hard to find well located accomodation in Rio over New Years. When we arrived on Christmas Eve the owner Elisabete informed us there was damage to the guest house and we could not stay there. She offered us the choice of two alternative apartments to stay in, and the one we chose was great. We had a lot of fun in Rio and the apartment location made a good contribution to that. Elisabete was helpful and I recommend contacting her for accomodation in Copacobana.
