Not because it's a simple place, it should have the least amount of cleanliness, bad bathroom, room, kitchen, and extremely dirty reception, the only thing that saves is the view from the breakfast.

What a terrible experience!

It's a wonderful retreat and yet close to the city life. The crew is very nice and helpful. Overall, the hostel is clean and comfortable. The pool is wonderful for relaxing. The view from the terrace offers everything you need to be happy.

When I first booked this hostel, it almost had a perfect rating from over 100 reviewers, so I didn't bother to read the individual reviews. However, when I arrived, the rating was far from my perception of the hostel, so I began reading the previous reviews only to find out that there was a glitch in the rating system, and that the true rating was much lower.  The pictures of the hostel are amazing - makes it look like a resort, but the reality is much different.  In all fairness, the hostel is clean, the breakfast is small but adequate, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were clean, and the pool was clean and refreshing while I was there.  The down sides were that the hostel is not close to anything, there was not AC in my private room as advertised, only a fan, and the bed was quite uncomfortable.

Don't Believe Everything You See In Pictures

In order of minor to major gravity: 1. the breakfast was repetitive and precarious. 2. the attention of the people who worked there was zero, zero willingness to help and even delayed in opening the door since the hostel was located on the way to a favela so walking at night was dangerous. 3. In general everything was very dirty but especially the kitchen, bathrooms and swimming pool. 4. There were 5 bathrooms available to share among all the guests, two had no shower, one had no light, three had no toilet paper and were flooded with the weather, and all were disgusting. 5. Although I note that I had no concern about the maintenance of the establishment, during my stay there was a small rock in the area of the swimming pool, which was the most disappointing thing I could do.

The worst hotel in my life.

It's a beautiful place, employees who eventually become family, a lot of attention and quality of service, a warm reception and a wonderful view of the 3rd floor, a swimming pool with a natural touch of an amazing stone, and rooms painted in the colour of Brazil!

That's perfect!

The hotel is lovely, with lots of atmospheres. The staff is very attentive. The breakfasts are varied and good. The only thing is that, although the bus passes through the hostel door, it is difficult to get to the different places to visit, beaches and so on.Everything else is OK.

The staff is very attentive, they are friendly and always with a smile, they make you feel like family.The only thing I liked was the location, it's a little hidden, but the others, all right, thanks.

Great facilities, a very good location on the RJ, only a climb to get there, but it's good to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean landscape. And even if you don't know Spanish, you can still learn to speak Spanish, or if you're of Spanish origin and you want a place that speaks your language, here's the point!!!

Hostel well located

I'm not asco, I'm not demanding or pretentious, but I sleep like an animal, in a hot room, loud music at 9 am, dirty saunas, dirty mattresses, dirty intalations, bathrooms! very personal and nobody does anything, they look like a vacation, my bed was without saunas, the owner said I should do it myself, a disaster. My Almohada had mohos! the bottom of the bed was rotten, sleeping with a hole that hangs from the mattress. Music is unstable... well lohum, the staff speaks Spanish, they're friendly but not functional. They're very expensive... nose, a bad experience, the owner had a bad staircase, no signage on the staircase, very hidden.

I was staying on my return from Ilha Grande and had heard of her brother's hostel, however he chose the east because it was better located according to the reviews. Upon arrival I was received very well. The hostel is very economical and the Wifi is very turn-off unlike many places, it is decorated from the door to the terrace with beautiful murals and the view from the third floor if you can't believe it is the same as Cristo de Corcovado and the Pao de Açucar which I have to convince myself, I would go back to always considering that the cafe manha and the pool are the cherry of the cake too.
