Hostel Porto Do Sol

When I arrived in Porto Alegre the plan was to find a small appartment for the upcoming months, instead I stayed in the hostel for 11 weeks. The hostel is good, clean, has a huge fully equipped kitchen, a common room with TV, pool table and games, good breakfast, big beds, good wifi, hot showers, free access to a pool nearby and the most AMAZING staff. The hostel is close to the busstop, on a 10 min walk of park Rendenção, 30 min walk to the Historic center and close to big and small supermarkets. And if you prefer to go by bike, you can rent one (but for someone from the Netherlands you have to adjust to the un-bike-friendly traffic). As mentioned in the title, Hostel Porto do Sol made me feel at home, and this is mostly due to the people who work here. Everybody was always friendly and helpful, even when I was feeling a bit grumpy (it was 11 weeks, I can't be happy all the time). A special thanks for Caroline, who took care of me like a big sister, and to Victor who put up with my endless talking and who really became a good friend. I can truly say that I felt sad to leave. Tanks guys, you are amazing!
