Lido Hotel

Good hotel, very convenient location in the center of Porto Alegre. Helpful and friendly staff. I loved their buffet breakfast, with a lot of choice in fruits and bread. The room was small but well equiped. I couldn't ask for more for the price that we paid.

Good hotel

Got there without reservation (both IBIS were full). There was room available. It was clean, but the room was smeling smoking. The Bathroom wasn´t very cozy, but clean and funcional. R$ 115,00 + 7,00 breakfast. I don´t know about parking. It was a cold night but the air conditioning is a heater as well and worked fine. Very noise. I thought someone was opening my door, but it was my neithboor arriving. The doors are at least 30 years old. Porto Alegre has bad hotels. They offer free internet, and it was fast and stable. I am still looking for a good one in good price.

Reasonable

This small, spotless hotel is right in downtown Porto Alegre--which is noisy and full of people until about 8 PM. When I stayed many of the rooms were being updated.  The rooms have strange configurations (a bidet got in the way of opening my bathroom door, so I had to step into shower). There are limited amenities: it's the only hotel I've stayed in without hairdryers. You get soap and a frigobar. Breakfast is extra...and it's only so-so as Brazilian breakfasts go. If you're not a big breakfast person, you might just want to get a coffee and pastry at one of the nextdoor lanchonettes. I kept juice in the fridge. The young men at the front desk very helpful and tolerant....the hotel has ashtrays in rooms that it says are nonsmoking.  But it's extremely clean. I'd recommend this hotel to someone who can live without frills and wants to spend their money on something else. The wifi is weak and sometimes unavailable--but there were many business people in the hotel.

It grows on you.

Located in the old district, it is a good place to rest while you are doing business. Comfortable bed, hot shower and a decent breakfast for you. The breakfast could have a bit more options for gluten free diets, though.
