31 reviewsAs an American couple wanting to get away from touristy areas, we certainly found a winner. This pousada is hidden down a dirt road in a tiny town on the sea- no signs to help! We finally found a local who knew where it was, and what a find! Nothing very luxurious- simple room and bathroom, open-air restaurant on the pool deck on the ocean. We were there off-season and were the only guests, including having the huge stretch of beach entirely to ourselves. The beach is lined with large private homes of wealthy Brazilian city-folk. We also found a beachfront restaurant 1/2 mile away, PACKED in the off-season with Brazilian tourists brought in by the many dune buggy rental tours. Not a North American or European in sight the entire time. In fact, we were told that 98% of the guests are Brazilian with a few South Americans thrown in. Got by on my Spanish... marginally. Hosts were very nice and accommodating- then again not too hard when you're the only guests! V good rating because it was exactly what we wanted- nothing special but away from tourist traps.
