Mangue Seco Hostel

We, my friend and I loved that place ! The owners are so sweet and nice, the spot really well located and we'll decorated ! The restaurant was also delicious, don't hesitate any second to visit Mangue Seco and its hostel !

The hosts of the hostel are really nice, helpful and interesting. They do there best to make you feel as much confortable as possible. 
The hostel is really peaceful and well decorated. The breakfast is full of fresh fruits, juices and home-made breads. There is a free kitchen to cook or you can taste there home-made dishes. Advice : Taste the caipirinha, one the best i’ve ever drink in Brasil and feel free to use the kayak to discover the river. 
I recommend and will come back for the hostel and the incredible nature of mangue seco !

We have spent 4 night in Mangue Seco and each night we went for a beer at the bar at Mangue Seco hostel which just opened. Mangue Seco is still a very laidback and relaxed town but this place is unique. The manager / owner is a very social well traveled guy who understands travelers and we have spent a lof of time with him . One night we also had dinner there. There is a small menu but the food was great also prepared by the manager who runs the place as it just opened still all by his own. He also showed us the hostel as he was very excited as it just opened. The whole place looked very good  and the decoration is great with a good eye for detail. This is the place to go to stay ,for a beer a meal or to socialise.

Recently spent two nights here and really enjoyed it. The roof terrace is a highlight - relaxing in a hammock up there is a great way to watch the sunset or do some stargazing.

Accommodation is basic and clean which is all you need here. The food is fantastic and we ate in the restaurant both evenings to taste more options.

Great place to stay in Mangue Seco

To feel at home in incredible landscapes

First trendy spot in Mangue Seco

Awesome !

Mangue Seco is a nice place, we really enjoyed it. Lots of nature, animal sighting and calm atmosphere.

We were looking for a place to relax and but as soon as we walked into the hostel we met this guy Ertulio, the owner of the place.

He was really stressed about everything. Instead of welcoming us he started talking about how hard was to make a living in that place, how he didn't like the natives, how isolated he was there, that tourists had this and that problem, and lots of negative things. Really stressed. I wanted to leave, but we stayed because it was cheap.

The place has a kitchen, so we thought we could buy food and beverages outside...logically. The thing is we bought a beer and when we got there, this super stressed guy told us that we could not drink it on the tables facing the street, because other people would want that too and then would not buy beverages in the hostel. So he sent us to the rooftop that it was all dark to have our beer. I wanted to have the beer downstairs where we could see the street, the people, I don't know..I am not asking for so much. And if you have a kitchen, then, I suppose it means guests can buy food outside!!!!! 

That night we ordered a pizza and as the restaurant they have in the front was full, instead of asking us to wait he threw (literally) the pizza at us in the kitchen (yes, the hot kitchen next to the cooks) for us To eat it there. The guy is a phyco, really. He talks a lot and always about negative things of the place, the tourists, the natives, Blaming them for everything instead of blaming himself for moving to this isolated place.

Next day we left, obviously. We stayed in mangue seco 2 more night but not there!!! 

Anyway I must say their restaurant is the best in mangue seco. Escondidinho de crane seca is really good. But I would recommend just to have dinner there😌😌!
