Ocara Hostel

Hostel staff was great Fabio and Anne treat me like a member of their families. It is a hostel with a great Wifi conection, breakfast is average compared with hostels in South America (eggs, bread, ham, cheese, cake, cookies, milk, coffee, fruits, etc).
There's just only one bedroom with A/C and 6 beds. Oher bedrooms only had a fan.

I strongly recommend you to pay an extra dollar for the A/C. Manaus is just devil's home. (Expect 34-40 degrees after midnight).

I Paid 9USD/night with A/C, fan rooms must be couple dollars cheaper.

Big, clean and with a friendly staff. This place is near all the most interesting sights and if you are booking for any jungle tour agency it's easy to find them from here. Excellent wifi connection and big free breakfast with hot bread!

The hostel is located right at the city center. They also provide good breakfast and good wifi connection. They only have one room with air condition and the rest only have fans, which can be problematic since it's really hot in Manaus. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable about city's finest and speaks good English. The beds were comfortable enough.

Highly recommended and truly a value-for-money hostel.

Nice Place with friendly staff

Ocara Hostel was in a great location, very close to the central square. The cheapest rooms (that we stayed in) only had a fan, not AC, but you get what you pay for.
Breakfast was great (fruit, cake, bread, eggs), although the water filter was broken both times we stayed here (either end of an Amazon trip), so we had to buy our own water, which was annoying. No one seemed to be fixing it either, so I can imagine this was an ongoing problem! 
Despite this, the staff were very welcoming and funny, especially Max on the desk.
Showers were decent, lockers were secure. A good place to stop in Manaus for the night, but not a showstopper.

Well located hostel

We booked a private double room but when we arrived found that there was no room even though we had paid a deposit to confirm the booking, so we were put in a 4 bed dorm. We stayed one night before a trip to the Amazon so needed to leave promptly in the morning - the hostel knew this but in the morning there was no one around who could take our payment, they had lost our paperwork and there was no breakfast provided. When we asked where we could go to eat they were unable to recommend anywhere so we had to just find our own way in a town we did not know with no map. Staff were useless.
