Pousada Vale Verde Bungalows

The minute we arrived we already felt at home! Julio, the owner, is the perfect host, he is always around for any questions or needs, knows the region in and out with lots of excellent tips for excursions or restaurants. He is an experienced surfer so he can give you the best spot to catch waves each day ;-) and he is also an excellent chef! The whole team is truly wonderful and the service is excellent (very clean and super attentive to your needs)! Breakfast is great with a variety of fruit, freshly made all natural juices, breads, toast and cakes, ham, cheese, local specialties such as excellent "doce de leite/dulce de leche" and pão de queijo :-) it is served in the combined reception and breakfast room and adjoining terrace with a wonderful view over the valley and Garopaba! The "pousada" is very nice with two swimming pools, lots of lush green (banana tree, lemon tree and jabuticaba), with two outdoor showers, one conveniently located for rinsing your surfboards when coming back from the beach, and parking. We stayed in bungalow n°10 (the middle one of three townhouse type bungalows attached to each other), with two good-sized rooms with air condition, small bathroom, a little garden/terrrace with private Brazilian style barbecue, hammock and a nice view over the valley. The decoration is rustic which combines perfectly with the beach feeling and the combined kitchen and living room is ideal for 2 persons (we were 5 so it was a little tight but ok), tv, good wifi, fully equipped kitchen with a big fridge and everything you need. We had several barbecues - it is so great to have your private barbecue! We thought the beach (Rosa Norte) was going to be a little far for walking, but since we went in high season there was no parking close to the beach and one would spend more time in traffic jams than walking so we walked and it was exactly 15 minutes walking normally (together with my sporty 70+ parents and our 7 year old son ;-) - so no problem! The "pousada" is also close to all the restaurants and shops so we walked everywhere! :-)
