We found this place last minute as we arrived during carnival and it was recommended by the tourist office. Although it would be considered far away from the main center, the bus stop was a minute away and it only took 5 mins to get to main bus station in the center. It was such a great hotel and the cheapest that we have stayed at in Brasil. I have been travelling for over 8 weeks through south america and it is the cleanest hotel I have stayed in with the BEST breakfast (honestly). It is very dated but as it was clean, I found that feature very charming (similar to a bedroom at Chateau Marmont, LA - where you pay a fortune for the privileged). recommend.
