598 reviewsSimple beach hotels tend to have issues with cleanliness, or at least its perception of. Varadero is a great exception. It is the cleanest simple beach hotel I´ve ever been. Located at Canasvieiras, very close to the beach, is new, clean, well established. I´ve stayed at Varadero II, brother of the older one, but you can´t say there´s a big difference. Rooms are not too big, but enough for that hotel class. Bathroom is a bit small, but gives all you need. A small swimming pool, or actually 2, as you may use on both hotels. Advantage is that at Varadero I the pool is at top floor, with a nice view to the beach. Staff is very helpful, always with a smile on their faces. Breakfast is well served on a buffet style, always re-filled with fresh things. Canasvieiras is far from being among the best beaches in Florianopolis. Also the neighborhood environment is not particular nice. A small “downtown” plenty of small typical beach shops and junk food. By the way, if you want to really have nice dinner, you´ll need to take a car and drive for a while. So it is the perfect simple beach hotel in a below average beach in the area.
