Pousada Caldas Novas Hostel

This is very peaceful place to stay at a very reasonable price. After reading all the complaints about noise in the fancy hotels I went looking for something else. While this place has hostel types of lodgings where you rent a bed there are also rooms with private baths. We had a suite of rooms one room had a queen bed and the other had bunk beds. The host speaks alittle English from his days as an air traffic controller in Brasilia. He is most hospitable and forthcoming with travel suggestions and he knows how to give directions! OThe breakfast is like eating at home if your home has five types of bread, cake, various fruits, franks and beans and, for us protein lovers, fried eggs. Although this place does not have hot water pools, it does have abundant solar hot water In the shower and discount tickets for various hot water parks. Our only problem was the intense heat and humidity when we wanted to sleep but it cooled off eventually. This place is an excellent option to the big parks and even paying for park admissions you will come out way ahead and the hospitality is hard to beat!
