Pousada Chez Nice

Chez Nice is a good, basic pousada with a great location only 2 blocks from the main restaurants and shops in Buzios. The rooms are simple and clean, although the décor is quirky. Our first room faced the street, which was quite noisy. We asked to be moved and our next room at the back of the pousada was quiet. There is a garden area with hammocks and seating, a bar/patio area with a ping-pong table, and a very tiny dip pool. The breakfast has fruits, juice, cheese, meats, breads and good coffee. This is definitely a family atmosphere and the owners, John and Andressa, are very nice and helpful. Andressa even insisted on picking us up when we arrived by bus from Rio and driving us to the pousada in her own car – very kind! Andressa speaks Portuguese and a little bit of English; otherwise, it’s pretty much Portuguese only here. Chez Nice is a good value if you want to be in the center of Buzios and you’re not looking for anything too fancy.
