Bedrooms clean and cute, with a perfect service crew! We can use paddles and canoes when we want for free. Besides, the crew prepared use a very tasty breakfast with local specialities! To finish, all the pousada has an extraordinary view over the ocean. Can't wait to go back!!

We arrived the week after New Year. It was the most expensive hotel in the island and we expected a quality of service up to the price we pre-paid. Well, it was a real disappointment under several aspects :
- food was quite basic (apparently the cook was away)
- the GM had left and the Pousada management relied on a lady which until then was in charge of room cleaning … Despite trying to be helpful (and not speaking a single word of english) she was clearly overwhelmed by the task and everything appeared to be  'very complicated' to be solved
- the taxi boat to the village which was advertised as a free shuttle, become all of a sudden a "pay taxi"… but this policy was changing according on how loud you were screaming to the lady
- the room very very basic for the price paid, had for sure a great view to be combined with a leaking toilet (unable to be fixed in 5 days of our stay) and with a non existing closet (hence living out of our travel bags in a hotel at more than 200 eur/night)
- internet worked for about 20 min in 5 days

Over Priced and poor services

I really don't know what to write here because this place was such a mixed bag.

Positives...

The verandas with the hammocks overlooking the bay are fantastic. Gorgeous and stunning view. Lovely little beach just a stone's thrown away.

The food tasted good.

The free transfer to the mainland and Abraão were handy.

The staff were overall really friendly and helpful whenever we had anything.

Breakfast was nice.

Negatives...

Though the food tasted good (except for the dessert which was a bit dire), the portion was small. We had to ask for more. They asked if we prefer meat or seafood, and despite saying meat, everyone still ended up getting prawns.

The showers had no hot eater. We mentioned this but it was not solved by the next day (I think it wasn't looked at at all). Not a huge issue but the staff didn't really seem to care much about fixing it.

The place is in dire need of renovations.

The rooms were a bit dirty. The sheets were not clean and neither was one towel in the bathroom.

The fire extinguishers were all in the red...every single one.

The WiFi never worked.

All of this would be easy to overlook if it weren't for costing £200 (R$600) per night per room! Had it been cheaper, I'd have given this a much higher rating but at this price, I'd categorically never stay again.



Such potential but disappointed

We stayed there in January 2014. It was the most expensive hotel in the island but it was high season and we wanted an special place with a good environment.
Our experience did not started well: they did not show-up to pick us up and it was very hard to contact them to tell we were waiting. We had to wait more than two hours. The owner, Cristina, was extremely RUDE and unpolite when we asked her for explanations. We decided to stay just because the rest of the staff were very kind and friendly (as most of Brazilians are -except Cristina-). 
The place is located in a very beautiful environment, but the hotel facilities and service was poor. Internet does not work and the dinner is just one dish, so you can get hungry. The cook nevertheless is very good and extremely friendly. They have a transfer service once a day to go and return from Abrao, but it is NEVER punctual so they make you loose a lot of time waiting.

I just think it is overpriced and would not reccomend to go.

Overpriced. Very poor service

The view is just amazing! 

The rest, well.......very, very disappointing. We paid 800BRL per night, probably also because we booked 2 days before we visited  this Pousada. 

Our 2pax room was not clean. Hairs on the floor, mold on the walls, mold in the curtains, minibar full of food rests, shower full of rusty items, dust everywhere. A lot of dust. 
The sound of the the airco was like a plane flying low over your house. So we decided not to use it. Our neighbours did, so there where still two planes flying around all night.
And the rooms could use a big renovation. Everything is just old, used and used again, many many times. 
The dinner is very poor, It's the food you cook when you are home alone and you don't want to cook an appropriate meal. The breakfast is the same.
The (free) wifi? Well, there is a very strong wifi signal when the antenna is almost poking out your eye because you are standing so close to it, but there's still no internet connection at all.
You have to beg for the free boat transfer. They just tell you it's 50BRL per person. Instead of offering it for free like they do on the Internet. 
When we arrived, one side of the jetty was full of filled garbage bags, the most unusual welcoming committee I've ever seen, 2 days later they where still there, yuk! 

On the second day they wanted to clean our room. We asked them to come back a little bit later because we where almost ready to start our hike for that day and leave the room. That was ok, and they never came back.

The view is great, just enjoy the view by going to the beach. Don't spend your money here.
