Not my first visit to Sarajevo, but surely one of the most memorable ones. Traveled with two more friends and booked two double rooms at Secret Rooms B&B. Winding, hilly streets took us to Alifakovac where on the outside the  place looks just like the rest of the traditional  houses in the neighborhood, however on the inside we were pleasantly surprised by the mixture of old&contemporary styles when it comes to furniture and decor of the rooms, not to mention the luxury of having a bathtub in the center of the room! Moreover, being on a hill overlooking the old part of the town, the view was amazing. Our host; Maja turned out to be  warm, lively and quirky, a real gem of a person. The spacious and comfortable kitchen and living areas are naturally shared with other guests so if you are lucky as we were, you get to arrive just on time for dinner made by a professional chef staying in a room next door, and also meet some rather interesting people. Other advantages: B&B  is only a five-minute walk from  Bascarsija. Free parking on the location.

"Unforgettable stay at Secret Rooms, already planning for the next year"

There's a reason they called it Secret Rooms, (in our minds anyway)... And that's because it's impossible to find!  Our taxi driver drove around the neighbourhood for around 30mins trying to find the place and in the end we gave up and opted to find it on foot!  Good job too as the entrance isn't really accessible by car as it's on a very steep and old cobbled path/road.

Once ensconced, we found it to be a rather pleasant and charming place.  Terrific views and only 5-10mins walk from the old town.  It felt to us more like a house-share or an AirBnB than a B&B as there are 4 rooms essentially all sharing a living-kitchen-diner and you're pretty much left to your own devices apart from at breakfast time when Jen popped up and set out a simple but adequate breakfast.  Jen also was on hand to answer any questions we had and offered to arrange tours.  She's resident in an apartment below and so was only a phone call away if we need any further assistance.  

Our room was very cosy with a kingsize bed and a lovely large shower room.  We stayed for 2 nights and were surprised that our room (or to be more precise) our bathroom wasn't given a clean but perhaps that isn't practised in these types of accommodations???

All in all only pleasant memories of this place and would recommend it to anyone wanting something a little more self-sufficient than a hotel.

Charming Little Guest House

I stayed at Secret Rooms for 4 nights in two different rooms (due to an unscheduled extra night due to fog).  It's a fantastic little place - modern, clean and smoke-free (a rare thing in Bosnia).  It's seven minutes walk down the hill into the Old Town and four minutes from an excellent brewery pub, if that's your thing (it's definitely mine).

Sebastien, the owner, is a lovely guy.  I followed some of his recommendations, all of which are excellent.  Sarajevo, by the way, is a brilliant place to spend a few days - loads of interesting history, reminiscent of Istanbul in some ways and with plenty of cultural stuff going on (jazz, arthouse cinema, coffee shops, art).  But beware of the fog in Winter - I was delayed on flights by a day in and out.  But Sebasiten was very accommodating about all that.  

Anyway, thoroughly enjoyable.  When I come back, I'll stay again.

Great little B&B

Amazing welcoming by Sebastien, The Host, careful find and funny, he will make you feel like home away from home. Bedding are really compfy, breakfast delicious and the general atmosphere, two steps from the city center will make you want to come back:)

A little heaven

I was here for two nights. Hosts are very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, accommodation is 3minutes from very center. This is a place where you come back again. Picture is a view from the accomodation.
