We stayed in this hotel two times before and after hiking the Isla del Sol. I rated this as being an excellent hotel after our first stay because of the great location between bus station and the port and very close to the center, one of the best breakfasts we had while travelling, the warm room and the hot shower. All this made this hotel an excellent choice and there was nothing to complain about. 
However, now after having stayed there a second time I think even more highly of Hotel Utama because they went out of their ways to assist me when I had forgotten my EBook reader in the hotel room. They found it after I had checked out and managed to send it by bus to La Paz where I was staying then. This involved countless phone calls with the hotel in La Paz because it wasn't easy to deal with the bus company. 
All in all, this is an excellent hotel that offers great value for money. And if you should have any problem  you can definitely count on them. 

Excellent hotel with owners that go the extra mile for you

My girfriend and I both got sick on Isla del Sol. When we came back to Copacabana and this hotel all normal rooms where full. However, the lovely personell made it possible to sleep in a more luxury suite for the same price. Also, they offered to call a doctor in the neightborhood and we could ask whatever we want. Also the rooms were totally fine and we enjoined the hot shower! Besides, we made use of the laundry service, which was excellent.
Definitely would stay here again!

Nice hostel with the best personell!

Friendly and helpful staff. Able to pay in boliviar, dollar and Euro. 
Rooms are not so big, but enough place. 
There was a problem with the shower, but they solved it in 2 mins.
Breakfast is fine, but not too much. 
Great: Balcony with chairs, desks and a lot of sun. 

Nice hotel 

Hotel was OK, decent breakfast, there was even heating for a few hours. It was reasonably clean. The room where I stayed was rather plain and had no view. There is a small walk uphill to get there, but nothing excessive. 

To save time in the morning I wanted to pay the night before and was told that it was not possible - a bit weird. The payment in the morning howler took less than a minute anyway.

OK stay

Staff members are very friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast and room's generally clean. The hotel's in a quieter part of the town although shower could at times less than hot.

Friendly staff and great breakfast!

The rooms and services are good.People with heavy luggage shall be aware as this hotel is uphill. You need to carry the heavy luggage up slope. You may prefer to book along beach or the main street to avoid many slopes.

The bed was probably the least comfortable one we've slept in. The shower had low pressure and bathroom was a bit mouldy. WiFi didn't work very well on the top floor. Considering the price you can't expect five stars but there are small things that can be improved. 
Location is good, short walk up a hill from the white anchor. They would happily store your bags there if you go to Isla del Sol overnight. Good murals and our window was facing the lake which made for a nice view!

Okay for a couple of nights

Hotel is located on a hill, so you'll have to climb a a bit. The Wi-Fi is not great and coffee at breakfast is not so good, as well. You have to ask at reception for heating to be switched on. 
The aforementioned hill, means that you may have a lovely view if your room faces the direction of the lake (worth asking, when you book). 3-5 minutes walk from centre. The breakfast was nice, but could be a little bigger. There's 24/7 reception and large sitting area/lobby. There's a book exchange if you're bored and a terrace if you feel like sitting outside in peace and maybe have a smoke. The room was of good size, bed comfortable and bathroom functional with hot water shower (not the tap) and hair dryer; all clean and in good condition. Drinking water is provided in the lobby, but not for filling up your water bottle.

Really good

This is a beautiful hostel with nice size rooms and hot water in the shower. The breakfast was awesome compared to everywhere else we've been. Only down side is that the staff are a tad hard to communicate with, and most of the people floating around up front seen like they have no authority for things like payment or reservations. Great place to stay, just make sure you have a reservation for the full time or if your schedule changes make sure you take to the one person with authority at the desk and get a price up front.

Nice hostel but staff...

The hotel is located at the top of a steep hill which is challenging at the high altitude of Copacabana. The hotel is very bright with stunning views offering good value for money.

The shower is poor but adequate - in Bolivia and hot water should be seen as a bonus!
