Arrived late and was only here for a few hours as i had an early flight out the next day. The hostal staff were present to check us in despite a late arrival and also prepared breakfast at 6.30am despite it usually starting at 8am. 7 minute drive from airport and only 20 bolivianos in a taxi. Hotel offered to book taxi but this was much more expensive their cost was 60 bolivianos. Bed was comfortable and room was clean

Excellent hostal very close to airport

It was a pleasant stay of 5 nights at this place in a nice-sized room with a bathroom & a TV (for really a "greatly reasonable" rate of just 15 US$ a night).  And to go with a great rate is a "vibrant location" with plenty of shops & streetside vendors all around and where the popular Witches' Market (the "best place" in La Paz for souvenir shopping) is just about a 5-minute walk from this place (to the right after coming out, then to the left at the end of the block followed by a short downhill way to the market which is on the right) and where there's also an area like a "night market" (just a few minutes' walk to the left after coming out).  But more than anything, what impressed me most while staying at this place was the "superb customer service" provided by Carlos & Stefanie at the front desk (especially Carlos who booked my two tours for Tiwanaku & Chacaltaya/Moon Valley where I had two great days outside the city).

Also recommended are the two restaurants just directly across the street from this place (one actually a little to the left after crossing the street) where you can get "filling meals" at reasonable prices of about 30 bolivianos (which is just about 4 US$).

Rate, Location & Customer Service! :)

This place had the best breakfast I had in any hotel in Peru and Bolivia combined.
Fruit salad, as much bread as you want, boiled eggs, good coffee.
Everything was good (Room,shower,wifi).
The rooms facing  the street are the warmest because they get some sun.

Good budget option in La Paz

My boyfriend and I booked this place through Bolivia hop which was really disappointing because it was horrible. The bathroom floors were always covered in nondescript water where toilet, tap, shower water and god knows what else mixed together. The bathrooms also had no locks that worked and were hardly cleaned.
Generally everything was just old and decrepit, the beds were uncomfortable and worn out. The wifi was intermittent. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Look elsewhere 

This was awful, you truly do get what you pay for. We stayed in cheap hostels all over Peru and Bolivia and had no problems, but this place was really not good. Our room was alright, the bed was so gross though and I have no idea the last time it was cleaned. I tried to close the curtains and the fell off the wall, so we had to sleep with them open. The bathroom was down the hall, and this was thw worst part of the whole place. There were 3 showers, 2 of them didn't have locks on the door and the third one didn't have a shower head. We ended up using one of the ones without locks and standing guard for each other. The floor in the bathroom was completely flooded because all the drains were blocked, so even to go to the toilet you had to jump over cold scummy puddles. Speaking of toilets, one didn't have a seat, one had a whole role of paper shoved down in the bowl, and the other had poo all over it and on the wall. Luckily we only had to stay here for one night, we couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Probably the worst place I've ever stayed...

Decent price for location however has many downsides: Breakfast is non-descript jam with tasteless bread. Laundry service lost some of my clothes. However hot water can be relied on. Rooms are incredibly basic but comfortable.
