Lovely garden with e.g. fruit trees. Reception not so welcoming, staff speaks bad English. Restaurant staff very friendly though. Room (above the courtyard) in design excellent. Large bed, good desk and WiFi, even so large that it took us 10 minutes to find the last light button that the staff had switched on when showing the room 😉 However cracks already showing, like a broken towel rack in the bathroom and some loose parquet tiles.

The service level however is where the current hotel really collapses. Breakfast Western but very limited, and dinner bland Bhutanese selection. No complete room info booklet, causing us to take our room key outside with us and then upon return finding that ‘they could not clean the room as they are not allowed to use their master key for that’. So they had to hurry and clean it immediately upon return, also because upon first arrival day there was no spare WC paper roll. And we delivered laundry to do at 7.30 AM to be told ‘same day, probably evening’ and in the end after quite some panic got it back around 9 PM, still partly wet.

In summary sadly currently far below average, needs serious staff and process retraining and some refitting to claim back its former 3 stars.


Faded glory, avoid for now!

Very clean,the staff are very courteous,the food is delicious,and I would strongly recommend to any one who's wants to be far away from the crowd.The gardener has done an excellent job.The approach road is motorable but not tarred ,maybe as per the rules as it is almost on a high mountain.

Metta Resort and Spa,a clean and peacefull experience

Have stayed at Metta Resort and Spa number of times. Location is good staff are great and welcoming. Restaurant area and food quality is great. The Metta Resort very good.. value of money. Advisable great stay in Bhutan.

Wonderful 

We went to Bhutan as a couple and spent 2 nights in each of the town but trust me we have spent our whole trip as a group tour as we met each and every people there were very good and friendly in nature. Metta Resort, Paro one of the best among others because of its food quality and amazing amenities. People helped us a lot and guide us throughout our trip and gave their companies.

Bhutan Tour ! Amazing Tour

We visited Bhutan this year in January, which is the most coldest month there. But Hotels we have selected Like Metta resort in Paro didn't let us realize to feel cold as all the rooms are highly maintained and heater was running very well. Staffs were also very helpful specially Mr Ram who were there to guide us fully. This is among one of the Highly recommend hotel of Paro in your budget with nearby nice view.

Our Bhutan tour

Room is big and comes with:
1. 2 bottles of complimentary mineral water
2. Instant coffee, tea and Kettle
3. Shampoo, conditioner, shaver+shaver gel and body wash provided.
4. Fast WiFi.
5. 2 electric radiator and electric bed warmer. 
6. Perfectly working hot water for shower.
7. Multiple international power plugs. 

We were not so lucky as their Malaysia food is not available during our stay. The buffet food is still nice especially the dumplings. Breakfast is simple with toasted bread, waffles, eggs, hot dog, fruits and baked beans. The hotel even packed breakfast for us on the day we check out as we need to depart at 6am+ to catch our early flight.

Quiet surrounding and the electric bed warmer ensured that we had 2 nights of good rest in Dec winter. 

A perfect hotel to stay in Paro! Highly recommended.

Best hotel in Paro!

Things are just opening up to tourism again, which meant service was ad hoc and a bit rusty but staff were friendly and helpful (and apologetic). Rooms are large and would have been comfortable but by now are in need of TLC. This place needs to be better managed if it is to be successful with the big hike in tourist fees which now makes Bhutan a high end destination so tourists will expect better than this

OK but should be much better

I spent my last night in Bhutan at this hotel.
This was the best hotel of the three I had during my trip.
The room was in line with the other two but the welcome and the evening buffet was much better than the other two.

Last night in Bhutan

this is the best hotel room after staying in Thimphu, Punakan, Gangtey for the past week. the room is large, which is similar to the other hotels I've stayed, but the bed comes with a heater. the 2 standalone heater does not really warm the room which is similar to the other hotels I've stayed. thus it is advisable not a good time to visit Bhutan during winer season as most hotels are not adequately equipped to keep the room warm. Breakfast and dinner are quite good. large serving. the road to the hotel is in pretty bad shape as it seems construction on the road is still on-going. on the early morning check-out, the hotel prepare a takeaway breakfast to the airport. Very thoughtful. overall, it's one of the best I've stayed during my 8 days trip in Bhutan.

nice stay in Paro Bhutan

I stayed in this hotel for two nights with my wife. It's a lovely comfortable hotel which is managed professionally among the others that I stayed in Bhutan (Not that the others are bad but this is better than the rest). 

The hotel lies slightly outside the Paro town. Therefore it is recommended that you ensure you come to the hotel after finishing all your sight seeing for the day. The surrounding is pretty beautiful and is a good treat for the eyes especially in the mornings. The approach to the hotel is pretty poor with very poor roads but kindly don't get disheartened. The destination is what you should wait for.

The room where we stayed was pretty big and comfortable. Since we went during the peak of winter, there were two room heaters and a heated bed which made our stay even more comfortable. 

The food at the restaurant was quite good. Since our trip was a meal included package we had a defined menu but at our request the chef was kind enough to substitute an item with a local delicacy which we enjoyed to the hilt. The serving portion was actually meant for 3-4 people but we were only two and had to ask them to serve only a little from the overall menu. They were kind enough to understand our plight and heeded to our request.

The service of the staff too was pretty hospitable and courteous. As we had to check out at 4 AM on our last day, they ensured that we left with a packed breakfast to the airport.

Overall we had a good time at this restaurant and would recommend other travellers to stay here too.
